The Oscars

Anyone watch? Did you like it or no?

I liked Seth as a host, but I hear he is getting bad reviews.

he was better than last year. he got off to a slow start, ( well I only watched like a hour at the beginning, then fell asleep) but it was still better than last year.

I like the old hollywood fashion, but otherwise I didn't watch... ill prolly breeze through it tonight jsut to check out some of the speeches and whatnot, but Im that big into movies anymore.. anything that coems ou tof the box office is usually over produced and so hollywood its just not worth paying to see anymore... the last movie that really caught my eye was Looper and it ended up being such a bad movie...

And apparently Megan Fox is being cast as April in teh new TNMNT movei.. directed by Micheal Bay.. that alone and with the fact that they are changin the orgins of the TMNT in this remake tells me the movie is going to be shit.. you don;t cast a hot dumbass to play a smart women's role...

I watched AMC all night.

Barbara Streisand was amazing. She did a tribute to Marvin Hamlisch. That lady still can sing up a storm!

EZ - I had AMC recording, but watched the Oscars live.

I watched some of the red carpet but that's it. Chopped was all new last night so I watched that instead.

I don't think I've seen any of the movies that were nominated. I do want to see a couple eventually though.

I thought Anne Hathaway looked beautiful.

She's my best dressed. I also like Reese Witherspoon.

I heard the Bond Tribute was cool, im gonna look for it online.

That and the title Is Ninja Turtles, not Teenage Mutant. Michela Bay screws everything up.

These were my favs:

I loved Jennifer Garner's dress - although it didn't look comfortable to sit in, especially for how long the Oscars are.

Jen Lawrence looked great too.

The Bond tribute disappointed me. Couldnt they have rounded up all the former Bonds to appear.
Too much musical stuff, didnt get the whole Chicago thing. It was so ten years ago.

I want to see Lincoln, even though they took liberties with the truth as well.

The Life of Pi is on the list to see as well.

The In Memoriam piece left out a lot as well

Maybe they were thinking of Andy Griffith as more of a TV personality and not a movie actor? Not sure why he would be left out.

I liked the show except for one really big thing - The First Lady presenting the award for Best Picture. That was such a horrible horrible decision!

The Oscars should NOT be about politics! It should be about movies and celebrating them - not about pushing your political agenda on the audience.

Awful! And, she should have known better than to accept the invitation.

by that reasoning why did they lead off with Ernest Borgnine ostensibly better remembered as McHale than Marty (which he won an Oscar for)

I only watched Adele sing Skyfall and saw Kristen Stewart have a blank stare into the camera with her disheveled look just like her crappy acting in movies.

I also agree with the First Lady thing, it shouldn't have been done, but I loath these shows so I didn't see it.

I'm glad DDL won best actor for Lincoln. They took some some liberties with the truth in that movie BUT that doesn't take away from his acting. With 3 Oscars now an argument can be made he is the best actor ever.

She just annouced the winner for best Picture.. that's it... this years Oscars was the most viewed in 3 years with about 40.3 million viewers

so if she just announced the winner ...how is she pushing a political agenda?...geez lighten up..we know repubs hate demo's ..but shit...let the girl live and present..shes our first lady...i wouldnt throw a fit if mrs bush presented..or george..or mitt...or any political person...i swear you guys hate everything demo/obama for no reason at all..or find a reason to hate on her or him..hell im not even the biggest fan of either of them myself...

Here's the problem YOU say you wouldn't care whether Laura Bush or if Mitt or Ann Romney presented YET you fail to give ANYONE the benefit of the doubt. How do you know what my comments would be whether Laura Bush or Mitt or Ann Romney presented? Didn't I make it as simple as possible, and didn't Colleen, when we said they shouldn't mix? Did I SAY movies and DEMOCRATS shouldn't mix? Once again I fail to see any hate.

Now, what I am REACHING for? I'm not reaching for anything. We have 4 Americans killed at an embassy in Libya and we watched in real time and there was no help called AND the administration lied to us about it being because of a movie rather than a planned attack. Oh AND the movie that the award was presented by Mrs. Obama was based on an embassy rescue. I'm just pointing out the irony. I thought I made that excessively clear.

No, you don't get it at all. Not even close. I don't have any personal feelings about him at all. My opinion is that he is a horrible president, one of the worse in history, and I base that on his piss poor policies. This is just another illogical fallacious straw man arguments I keep hearing...and reading. I made it EXCEEDINGLY clear I don't watch these stupid shows so I didn't see so I don't really give a rats ass whether she presented or not, my only opinion is they shouldn't mix...AT ALL. I don't care what party they belong to. I can't dumb it down anymore than that.

I dont think politics should have been mixed with the Oscars. i didnt see that part of the show, but i find that very odd. I dont think that's occured before. She's not a celebrety in theater. The oscars have not had presenters who are not entertainers... so odd.... to me.
