after the first inning I was ready to throw a bat at the TV, I turned it off and turned it back on in 6th inning. I'll take it too, especially since tampa dropped a game last night, they need some space

| They certainly have a flair for the dramatic, a ninth inning homer wins the game again, this time Stephen Drew, after a homer from Jonny Gomes, who i think at this point maybe should get more playing time?? | |

| We had a crazy one too...6-5 in 14 innings....someway they're finding a way to win, even with a gimpy Cabrera, who still hit #33....they reacquired former Tiger Jeremy Bonderman for the bullpen, and he pitched 3 shutout innings for the win He was a teammate of Verlander's on the '06 team.... |

| Well, Tigers lost 2 out of 3 to the Yankees....we could have easily swept....but even the losses were enjoyable, just to be able to handle Rivera two blown save chances |

| another night, another last at bat win.
tazawa blew the win for Dempster who pitched as well as he has all year, but 4-2 in 11 and Tampa lost again so the lead is up to 4 games now.

I was at a class last night, as soon as i got in the truck, i turned the radio on, they were talking about how great Dempster pitched, and within 20 seconds tazawa had given up a dinger to tie the game. I was literally swearing and screaming at the radio for 20 minutes on the way home!!! good thing it was dark, people would have been wondering "just how insane is this guy in the truck next to me??"

| tough loss last night, Lester pitched well, and they tied it in the ninth but couldn't push a run across and took a loss.
tampa won in a walk off, 3 game lead, hopefully they can get a win tonight and split the road trip 5-5.

or move to Cuba and play ball there, hard to believe that 5 years ago they were a perennial cellar dweller and good for 15 wins a season for the Sox.

| Tigers win 6-4, finish road trip 6-4 after starting it 4-0 (BTW good riddance to bad rubbish in the form of the Indian fans who shouted "Detroit! Bankrupt!" during the games there). We now start 4 at home with KC, hopefully we can put some distance betwenn us and them, so it'll boil down to just us and the Indians... |

| ahhhhh frustrating loss last night, peavey pitched great, and the sox should have scored 5-6 damn runs but couldn't get any hits when they needed them lead down to 2, and tampa is even in the loss column. Back home for 3 against the yanks, hopefully the bats will come back, the pitching has been pretty damn good the last 3 games yet they struggle to get run support. | |

yeah I think he deserves it, and they really needed to change something in Philly, their problems are mre a GM issue though, like alot of people said, manuel didn't sign the guys, and they definitely need to make some moves this off season if they want to get better.

I honestly think they kept him on so he could get the 1000 wins, then dumped him, I figured it would have happened before the all star break

| Now that I'm over the initial shock, it makes sense. His contract was up after this year and no matter what they said, they didn't promote sandberg for no reason.
The crappy season is the players fault first aided by injuries to some pretty big guys.
I think Ruben would have to be next.
On the plus side, I think sandberg will be tougher and maybe a little less patient. Charlie would leave a guy in forever when they weren't doing well. And since most if the team was in aaa last year, they've already played for him

tough to see aguy with soo much success and respect in league get canned like that. At least they didn't accuse of him doing drugs and not paying any attention to the team while he was there on his way out the door like they did to tito. Oh and it's official, the red Sox are really struggling, lead back to 1 game over tampa, now they are on their way to a 6 game road trip to sna francisco and LA they are bringing up xander bogearts, a 20 year old could phenom. they need a spark they have been scuffling for a couple of weeks, hopefully he can provide that

| well the thing with Charlie is that they knew they weren't going to extend him. Better to see how the guys react to Sandberg before its too late to search for a new manager.
We got a win on a walk-off Dodgers error yesterday - we'll take it!
my poor team - I don't know what's happening to them.
the best part is that's pretty much the team we'll be fielding next year. Except hopefully Howard and Revere will be healthy.

| The Phils won back to back games for the first time since July 19th Papelbon got his first save since July 11th now THAT is a slump on the plus side, Diekman hit 99 on the radar. If he can learn to control that, he can be deadly out of the pen. I'm going to the game tomorrow. Lee pitches and I'm getting a Hamels bobblehead. | |

hope so, if peavey can pitch like he did last time out, and they actually score some runs for him they will be good tonight. they need to go on a little run right now, it seems like tampa just doesn't want to lose.

especially now with 2 wild cards, and a 1 game play in for the playoffs, a whole season can come down to whether you have a pitcher who has one off day

| Dempster has been suspended for 5 games for the Arod hit
of course that only means missing 1 start for a pitcher

There are always rumors. The brought Wong up to play second and moved a very productive Matt Carpenter to third. Everyone produced last night, Wong and Freese included, so we'll see. The fella thinks they might tie Freese in with another player to get a shortstop. Eh, who knows, I'd be VERY sad though.
