So there is going to be 2 prominent evil/supernatural beings this season.. the Minotaur and The Axeman... we all know the Minotaur is a mythical creature, but The Axeman is based on real person as well...

The Axeman was a serial killer in the early-mid 1900s, who as his name says, killed his victims with an axe after breaking into their home... he was never identified and never caught.. the murders just stopped one day...

here is one of his most famous letters:

In fact, they have been so utterly stupid as to not only amuse me, but His Satanic Majesty, Francis Josef, etc. But tell them to beware. Undoubtedly, you Orleanians think of me as a most horrible murderer, which I am, but I could be much worse if I wanted to. If I wished, I could pay a visit to your city every night. At will I could slay thousands of your best citizens, for I am in close relationship with the Angel of Death.

Now, to be exact, at 12:15 (earthly time) on next Tuesday night, I am going to pass over New Orleans. In my infinite mercy, I am going to make a little proposition to you people. Here it is:
I am very fond of jazz music, and I swear by all the devils in the nether regions that every person shall be spared in whose home a jazz band is in full swing at the time I have just mentioned. If everyone has a jazz band going, well, then, so much the better for you people. One thing is certain and that is that some of your people who do not jazz it on Tuesday night (if there be any) will get the axe.

On April 10, 1834, a fire broke out in the LaLaurie residence on Royal Street, starting in the kitchen. When the police and fire marshals got there, they found a seventy-year-old woman, the cook, chained to the stove by her ankle. She later confessed to them that she had set the fire as a suicide attempt for fear of her punishment, being taken to the uppermost room, because she said that anyone who had been taken there never came back. As reported in the New Orleans Bee of April 11, 1834, bystanders responding to the fire attempted to enter the slave quarters to ensure that everyone had been evacuated. Upon being refused the keys by the LaLauries, the bystanders broke down the doors to the slave quarters and found "seven slaves, more or less horribly mutilated ... suspended by the neck, with their limbs apparently stretched and torn from one extremity to the other", who claimed to have been imprisoned there for some months.^[14]

When the discovery of the tortured slaves became widely known, a mob of local citizens attacked the LaLaurie residence and "demolished and destroyed everything upon which they could lay their hands".^[14] A sheriff and his officers were called upon to disperse the crowd, but by the time the mob left, the Royal Street property had sustained major damage, with "scarcely any thing [remaining] but the walls."^[16] The tortured slaves were taken to a local jail, where they were available for public viewing. The New Orleans Bee reported that by April 12 up to 4,000 people had attended to view the tortured slaves "to convince themselves of their sufferings."^[16]
The Pittsfield Sun, citing the New Orleans Advertiser and writing several weeks after the evacuation of LaLaurie's slave quarters, claimed that two of the slaves found in the LaLaurie mansion had died since their rescue, and added: "We understand ... that in digging the yard, bodies have been disinterred, and the condemned well [in the grounds of the mansion] having been uncovered, others, particularly that of a child, were found."^[17] These claims were repeated by Martineau in her 1838 book Retrospect of Western Travel, where she placed the number of unearthed bodies at two, including the child.^[13]

After 1945, stories of the LaLaurie slaves became considerably more explicit. Jeanne deLavigne, writing in Ghost Stories of Old New Orleans (1946), alleged that LaLaurie had a "sadistic appetite [that] seemed never appeased until she had inflicted on one or more of her black servitors some hideous form of torture" and claimed that those who responded to the 1834 fire had found "male slaves, stark naked, chained to the wall, their eyes gouged out, their fingernails pulled off by the roots; others had their joints skinned and festering, great holes in their buttocks where the flesh had been sliced away, their ears hanging by shreds, their lips sewn together ... Intestines were pulled out and knotted around naked waists. There were holes in skulls, where a rough stick had been inserted to stir the brains."^[24] DeLavigne did not directly cite any sources for these claims, and they were not supported by the primary sources.

Oh that Nicholas Cage.. lol he def has a thing for the bizarre and supernatural... New Orleans has more a mysterious supernatural past with all the Voo Doo stuff, also a lot of Vampire Werewolf stuff out of New Orleans...

welp this week's episode (which we finally watched last night) was pretty bleh.  glad Kit killed his disgusting mother. that really disturbed me.  LOVE that Fiona killed that young witch. Fiona can be the only supreme!!! Marie as a slave was pretty cool... and oh dear about the minotaur.  i love the Stevie Nicks girl... she's a bit wacky but i like her floofiness.

I hate how disturbing they have to get. Like it's to the point of uncomfortableness. You don't have be that disturbing to be bold and interesting. It was "meh" for me too.

The next supreme will start to rise.


I kept thinking how bizarre this show is and I had to remind myself that true blood is too. It IS graphic but not too much yet . I hope I make it through the season

eeesh Gin. I'm pretty hard to shock but they crossed my uncomfortableness line with the necropheliac incest and bestiality.....

i was bothered by the incest, necropheliac and bestiality too.  it stuck with me throughout the week then i realized the entire show is meant to make you uncomfortable - even the characters. we're not used to seeing people with downsyndrome or really obese women on the screen...let alone talking about sex and being sexual... those things made me uncomfortable as well.  every aspect of the show is like watching a centipede or nails on a chalkboard.. i think the intention is to make the viewer very uncomfortable

they succeed!

OMG when I read the little spoiler on TVline they said the Zoe would take Kyle home to his mom, but it would not end up being a very good idea... I figured he was just going to end up being evil and kill his mother.. but than when his mom was dragging him into the house and he quickly shot a look to Zoe.. I got chills.. I was like okay something really really bad is about to go down.. than once it happened I was like he better kill her!!! and hopefully talk soon enough to let Zoe know what she did...

Zoe is going to be getting herself into a lot of trouble if she doesn't start thinking before she acts... with Montgomery gone she might smarten up a bit hopefully...


The whole queenie and the minotaur thing was just bizarre.. and not because of the bestiality but because I just don't understand why she did what she did.. was she planning on giving herself to him from the moment she saw him in the window.. it was just bizarre... especially after finding out she was a virgin...

I am assuming that the Minotaur is kidnapping Queenie and taking her back to Marie Laveau, not only does she hate Fiona but Queenie's ability is probably very intriguing to Marie

i think it was partly that she was desperately wanting attenttion - even if it was negative attention.  thaty said - dude has a bull face... so i dont know. maybe she affected by some sort of trance.

i hope it gets less gross-sexy-time and more about the history of the witches and stuff.

It will.. I think the girls are going to start showing more powers as well.. especially with Fiona teaching them..

ok so this week's was a bit better. i love Jessica Lange no matter which character she plays so that story line is cool.   the zombies... mmm ok... well it is what it is.
i love Kathy Bates' character. and i dont know what the eff is going on with this Zoe girl and Kyle.  I can only assume Zoe is the supreme.

The red headed chick he killed is the same red headed witch that put the enchantment spell on Spalding right?? I was so glad to find out he cut off his own tounge... I know Fiona is a wicked witch, but I never though she was that wicked... I was sure he was going to write the name of the red headed witch...

And if it is the same red headed witch why did he kill her?? and fuck her first... OMG maybe he becomes the Axe Man...

And wth did Marie send her minotaur to the house, she should have known he wouldn't be able to defeat Fiona...

i think he's the ax man....

He has to switch to an axe at some point tho, they said the Axe Man's name is because of his choice weapon.. an Axe

Okay, so I was right that he did write down the name of the one who put the enchantment on him.. I was confused there...

The black witch's name is Marie... Marie Laveau... Kathy Bates character is addressed by Fiona as Delphine, which is her middle name, so that is what I call her than it doesn't get confusing, but it is funny that they both have the same name

i dont know what last night's episode was but i was not impressed.

i am hoping they were trying to be "artsy" and halloweeny at the same time. but the zombies... the chainsaw... really?

and where the hell is Kit?? last we saw he was out wandering with the trick or treaters and she went after him - then she's at teh house chasing zombies? huh?

and Fiona bringing the baby back to life - was very sweet - but with that kind of power - can she not save her daughters eyes??

Myrtle's demise was tragic considerring she was innocent - but she wasnt even burned... Rhianna lady came and made her open up her non-burnt eyes.

come ON AHS! i want you to be GOOD like the last 2 seasons!     

Really.. I loved last nights episode!!! Especially the chainsaw scene.. that was awesome!!! she kicked ass.. and as we now know has a new power!!!!!!

The only thing that threw me off was how creepy and weird the hospital was.. but I don't think it was suppose to be an actually representation of the hospital I think it was suppose to emphasize how affected Fiona was by what happened and from all the drugs and booze she was downing...

I also have a feeling that when Fiona uses her powers like that, which Rihanna has as well... it drains her of her life force a little.. I also think the things she had the woman say were a spell... I can't imagine anything dead than brought back can be whole..

Was she innocent tho... they showed the scene where she saw her in the elevator... Myrtle got what was coming to her.. she has been destroying people's lives to try and take down Fiona.. Although it will be interesting to see how much stronger she is when she heals...

As for Fiona's daughter... either we got a glimpse of her powers or she has quickly adapted to the burning of her eyes and has obtained a new power
