We've signed Roberto Hernandez

I'm not too familiar with this one, I know he was on the Indians and had the scandal with his false name and age.

He has a great ground ball rate which should play well in our park.

We had an interesting topic on the show talking about the Managers who just got inducted into the HOF, and how they are getting in by riding the bats of cheaters, which helped to improve their winning numbers.

the yanks signed brian roberts..another aging/hurt player for 2nd base....jus one year though but still...their whole team age put together has got to be as large as their annual salary pay out..

yes, but when they do it, its called "reloading"

when the Phillies do it, we're just old

The Yanks most curious move was the Jeter contract - didn't they just resign him for more dollars even though he missed last year and I think he still had a year to go

they're screwed if ARod wins his complaint and comes back

He was hurt early in the season. The article was updated to say he had offers here but took this one. Maybe he feels it would less pressure to play there while working his way back?

I doubt that but I think at least 95 wins.

Arod suspended for all of 2014

He can still appeal and go back to court but this could be the end for him

Yea, but if he appeals, he has to pay for the lawyer, not the players union. Good Riddance Aroid.

He's been "tearing it up" in the Venezuela league (.330 or so). At least this is just a minor league deal.

If he can hit and not get suspended.....whatever

Depth signing. He'll compete to make the team, if he makes it, he'll just be a bat off the bench.

they'll robably sign one of the few remaining starters left on the market, there's a drought in LA, they should sign garza and he can irrigate the field with all of his spitting  tongue

I'm glad the Red sox didn't veer off from their new philosophy of keeping prospects and signing players to shorter contracts.

I really think it's the way to succeed for a longer stretch.
but then again they will be signing Lester to 5 years and 100 mil plus I imagine just to keep him

I am very happy he didn't go to Boston, I don't think he will have near the success that Yu has had.

hmmm, not sure about this, I guess it's short money unless he performs, but he has been broken down for awhile now, not sure he will be able to stay healthy though the season.

I guess it's kind of an insurance policy for the outfield at this point

Yea, another player to add to the rotation in the outfield, he is a solid player when healthy.

thanks

It sucks that they have to pay to defend themselves after they did defend him. Athough I suppose they'll ask the courts to make him pay once they win. (and I think they will - I'm sure there's tons of evidence, there'd have to be)

What is stupid, if he had listened to the Union Lawyers and taken the suspension with everyone else, he would be playing this season!
