Farewell, and I'm sorry we couldn't get you that ring. He will retire as a Blue Jay.

Roy Halladay To Retire

By Steve Adams [December 9 at 9:57am CST]

Roy Halladay is retiring from baseball, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. Halladay will sign a one-day contract with the Blue Jays today so that he can announce his retirement from the game as a member of the Jays, adds Heyman (Twitter links).

he was as good as they get when he was in his prime, too bad he didn't get a ring as he certainly worked hard enough for one.

I know his numbers don't dictate it, but I think he is a HOFer, his stuff was nasty for most of his career, especially in the Steroid era, it's not his fault he played for a lot of bad teams most of his career.

He must already be bored - The Phils just announced that Halladay (and Brad Lidge) will be guest instructors in spring training this year.

I think he said his back actually. He could've had surgery to correct that but then to try to rehab and come back - he wouldn't have come back as he was and he didn't want to do that.

I wouldn't have wanted to watch that either. It was hard enough to watch him pitch hurt.
