still haven't lost more than 3 in a row, which hopefully continues. Bucholz was shaky the first couple of innings but settled down just enough.

They are starting to piss me off with the not getting a hit when they need to. i turned it on in the 3rd, bases loaded, nothing, turned it back on in the 4th, or fifth, runner on second, nothing.

c'mon 14 walks and 2 hit batsmen, they should have scored about 10 runs last night

yeah, we've been in the 30's overnight

but Lee was pitching so you'd think people would go to see him

they lost 1-0. Can't buy their way to .500 and above.

I'm hoping Hamels will give them a boost next week.

I guess it was our turn to win 1-0. We scored in the bottom of the 8th.

Paplebon got the save and hit 93 with his fastball.

No, I think they find some way to sign him, great game last night, Koji looked good too, and Victorino is supposed to start his rehab assignnment, so he's close.

gonna cost them alot of money if they wait until the off season. he did what an ace should do, pitch into the 8th inning when you used up the bullpen the night before... BTW- that sale guy ain't too shabby either, reminds me alot of like a randy johnson, a big skinny geek that throws nasty

especially left handed aces that can pitch in Boston.

They could have had him for 5 and a 100 I bet in the spring, now 5-120 will probably be the best they can do, with a vesting option for the 6th

couple of good games from the sox, i like the last minute win last night, I went to bed thinking they were not gonna take that one, but they never give up. Now if they can just take this game today at 11 they will be at .500.

Victorino and MB are close, and when they get their lineup stabilized they should be able to make a run. also, I think by June the weather is scheduled to warm up a little and it will be easier to hit

We scored 3 runs last week and until yesterday, hadn't had an extra base hit in 4 games

now on to LA - should be a difficult couple of days - thank God they don't come on until 10 so I won't be able to see it

6-4 top of the eight, chippin away, they had a chance to score a couple more in the 7th, but alas no hitting with men on base, apparently that's against the rules

its nice to see Howard getting his power back - he's on pace for almost 40 HR's this year, provided health stays with him.

he's ready, but since they have had 2 short outings by the starters, they are most likely going to call up a pitcher for a few days to bolster an exhausted bullpen . looks like he might be back ...Friday/saturday??

they desperately need his speed and defense, mostly his defense, if they can get him in right and sizemore in left, and leave jackie bradley in center, who has been very good defensively, then it will help. Hopefully he'll be able to hit also, but I really want to see his defense in the outfield.

Muiddlebrooks should be back too ina few days. they need to take a couple from the Yanks and stumble til the end of the month I guess, luckily they are only 3.5 out right now, but they need to stay close til maybe the temps get to friggin 70 and the bats warm up a little

We're now 3 out and I think tied for 3rd but only 1/2 game behind the Nats for 2nd - who have been getting beat up lately. Getting the first two from LA is outstanding. Hamels returns tonight.

By the way - Pap is on a streak of consecutive saves. One run saves at that. I'm sure he'll crush my heart eventually but I think we've forgiven him for now.

well the last time he pitched for the sox he broke my heart into a million pieces by blowing a save on the last day of the season, while the Rays were coming back from a 7 run deficit against the yankees in the last 2 innings, so yeah I think the odds are he will  tongue

I remeber watching the game, and then switching to another local sports show where a commentator said The red sox are in the playoffs, no way tampa comes back from that deficit, and then i turned the game back on to watch paps blow the save ( c'mon crawford you should have caught the effin ball) then i turned on the yankees game just in time to see longoria hit the homer that won the game for them  Mad

so did matsusaka his first season, if you look at his stats from his first few games as a red sox pitcher, they are very close to what tanaka has done so far.

so there's still hope he will end up a relief pitcher for the mets someday  tongue

that being said, he does look pretty solid.

of course pitching against this lineup isn't all that taxing at the moment either

I remember that game like it was yesterday, that game ended the Francona era.

Im really glad they got rid of Crawford

yeah me too, the front office has done a pretty good job of turning things around and I am sure the sox are gonna come out of this funk and play better.

I know JJ is gonna hate it, but Pujols seems to have found his groove in Anaheim.
