he was a great player..and likeable..just on the wrong team that most people hate...i wish him well......now people are talking about if he would make it on the 'mount rushmore' of the yankees....i dont know..thatd be hard to make...u got Babe, Maggio, Mantle, Gehrig....then Mariano, Yogi, Whitey Ford, Reggie Jackson etc....Yanks need like 3 mount rushmores

I would think yes. I was reading through one of the articles (maybe even the one I linked to) and he really became a part of a turn around for them.

I won't miss hearing "The Captain" all the time though.

I'm sure there'll be the whole farewell tour like Mo - that's why he announced it so early.

Ticket prices for his last games are skyrocketing

what will be hilarious is if he's on the DL by then and not even playing (ok not hilarious but mean )

that's why I would never pay over the top prices for something so far away, I'll watch it on TV instead, if I'm not working that is  :|

in his last game at Yankee stadium, he gets a walk off hit to win the game.

a story book ending to a great career.


Kind of a bummer that he is playing his last games in Boston, it just seems like it should have ended last night.


He was a great player for alot of years, and handled himself like a pro on and off the field for 20 years in one of the hardest places to play.

Not many people like that left in sports or the rest of the world.
