MADBUM ( stupid nickname but I'll use it)
Is an absolute monster.
He looks like he's barely putting any effort into pitching and is just sooooo consistent it'll drive ya crazy.  wherever he wants the ball to go it goes with virtually no mistakes

I'd hate to run up against him in a do or die game. uh

Thor ( fitting nickname) was almost his equal last night, did his job masterfully and it certainly wasn't his fault they lost.

So far 2 excellent games to start the post season, lets hope the Sox keep that streak going with a win tonight.

That was a very exciting game. I hope the Giants end up in the WS vs. the red sox (I guess :JJ: )

Oh, man! I forgot how much of a Buster Posey fan I'm not! ...but I do like Hunter Pence. I don't like the Dodgers because they couldn't win 1 game against the Giants at the end of the season to allow the Cards a chance. I can't root for the Nationals because, ugh, Brat Harper. I can't root for the Cubs because it goes against all that is good in the world. I don't usually watch AL baseball until the playoffs, so I really don't know what's going on...but I can root for the Sox, I suppose.

I knew that would get a reply.

Honestly after 2 years of the sox suckfest I'm just glad I'm able to watch playoff baseball.

To be honest, a cubs/red sox series would allow me to watch A- a red sox celebration
or
@- a Cubs celebration, which remembering how great it was when my team won will be worth watching.

Of course it will be fun watching the cubs get close then fall apart again.grin

so how about this, I'll root for the Giants, if they beat the cubs,if they lose, I'll then have to reassess who i'm going to root for

To be honest If the sox make to the WS, then there isn't a team I don't think they can beat, including the cubs.

Their offense is good enough, and if their pitching holds up they will put up a good fight against anyone left

frustrating game last night.shkfst
Porcello was a little over amped i think, and paid the price.

the offense was missing the killer B's, betts, bogaerts and bradley were invisible

Brock holt, benentendi, pedroia, leon, and ramirez all were there, as was papi.

they had more than enough chances just couldn't push that run over when they needed it.

we paid Price 217 million, he HAS to earn it today.

If they come home with a split the pressure is back on the Indians i think.

Yea, I'm really concerned with Price on the mound, all we need is a split

to me a split is what they should have been hoping for.

Francona is a good manager, has a talented team, and knows how to win in the post season.

with their line up, I might have considered pitching Erod in game 3, they are killers against righties.

But now that they need a win today, and hopefully Sunday, I have to go with the more experienced bucholz, man it hurts to say that.

they aslo need the killer B's to step up, I know they were probably a little over whelmed last night, but hopefully they got that out of their system and can get back to hitting.

Really impressed with benentndi, he is much more mature of a hitter than you would expect from a 22 year old who started in single A.

He looks like the real deal.

CMON SAWX!!! TAKE THIS GAME!!!!!

Yea, I feel a whole lot better today than they do, I can handle a one run loss, your ace getting crushed at home is hard to stomach.

they'll win today. I have faith too, and then the pressure is back on Cleveland to take one in Boston.
I like the 4 PM start time too, I think they play a little better sometimes during the day.

I'm hoping Kluber struggles a bit with the leg injury, and they have to go to a bullpen that they taxed by leaving Miller and their closer in for alot of pitches.

The key is Price, he needs to go deep and no give up any long balls

I'm looking forward to a 1-1 series today by 8 PM

The secondary ticket marketplace Vivid Seats reports that the median ticket price for a seat at Progressive Field in Arlington is $45 while it’s $237 for Game 3 on Sunday in Toronto.

you can fly to Phoenix from here to catch a game between the canucks and coyotes
flight + hotel + game tickets + beer & hot dogs and its still cheaper than a couple of decent seats here

Completely disappointed in gm 2, I am hopeful for one last postseason miracle from Papi, wearing sox gear from head to toe for gm 3

now that game 3 has been postponed, I assume porcello will pitch game 4 if they get there, but do you put Price back out there for a deciding game 5??

he just cannot pitch in the post season and thats a real problem.

I'd lean toward pitching Erod, withPomeranz and everyone else on deck if he struggles but i don't know that i could let the fate of the season rest on price if they make it game 5

Price is awful, I wouldn't use him again this postseason, a little worried that everything relies on Bucholz today, win today and anything is possible

I agree, but if it comes down to it, he will be pitching Game 5, no way they have enough balls to not start him.

I'm optimistic that they win today, and i really think that porcello will pitch better tomorrow and give them a chance.

if it comes down to the winner take all game, price will be out there, I'd say he will have a short leash, but they better have someone warmed up in the first dammit Mad

that'll never happen either, he'll be the number 2 starter regardless of what happens in the next few days.

It is hard to believe that someone who can pitch so well in the regular season is completely and totally unable to do so in the playoffs

he's failed for 4 different teams and likely cost at least one of them a world series.

Well shit, Goodbye Papi, thanks for the many years of service and for being the most clutch hitter these last 15 years, Sox need to add another starter or 2 in the offseason, make Price the 4 or 5, and with that being said, Go Cubs!

yup, go cubs

and farewell to the best clutch hitter to ever put on a uniform. he broke the curse of the bambino, he single handedly won at least one world series and left me with some great memories. yay

certainly the best red sox player i ever saw, and i go back to seeing guys like YAZ and fred lynn and jim rice and rico petrocelli play.

he was without a doubt the best i ever saw.

replacing one of the BOAT players is never easy.

I'm hoping that someday in the future we are saying the things we say about Papi regarding one of the guys already here.

Betts, Bogarts, benentendi, even Bradley have the potential to be superstars for years to come.

There will never be another Big PAPI but there will be another irreplaceable superstar on this team, it's just a matter of who it is.

when they got Ortiz he wasn't anyone somebody would call a superstar, even the first WS, he was the number 2 behind Manny.

It takes years of excelling, of being the guy everyone looks to for the big hit, and then delivering, to become that, and i really think that any one of those guys, or someone we have never heard of, will fill that spot.

I mean, when Papi ended up here it was because the twins didn't think he was worth keeping.

what they really need is someone to replace Pedro martinez, or Schilling, a guy who demands that you give him the ball when you need a win and goes out there and gets it.Mad

not someone who wilts at the thought

they just Gave Tito his first ever loss in a world series game.

this one will go 6-7 games, noone will run away with anything.

look for the tribe to come back with a win in the windy city and put the pressure back on the cubbies.

no celebratory wine for madden just yet.

Arietta was every bit as good as Kluber was in game 1,

soooo, a game 7 and one team's fans are gonna be happy to end a decade's( or century plus) old drought.

a fitting end to whats been a good world series.

The joy on one side will be at the least matched by the crushing defeat on the other.

i usually don't watch after the sox are eliminated, but I will be glued to the set tonight.

hopefully it'll be a 1 run game in the ninth, with the losing team having runners in scoring position to either win it or lose it.

God intervened on behalf of the Cubs, they had waited 108 years he didn't want them to wait another minute.

I couldn't keep my eyes open for the finish.

I honestly thought after the 8th that cleveland was gonna pull it out. Congrats to da Cubs, and the indians can hold their heads high, the job they did getting as far as they did was impressive.
