(thread for discussion of any comedies you wanna talk about)
Well I see Roseanne is returning tomorrow night, anyone interested to see if it'll be any good? I always liked the show til Dan left. He was great on 'Treme' btw.
eh well Roseanne was ok. the jokes are alright, but man, the delivery seems really stilted, like they are over-enunciating every word. Becky's voice got really deep, it's really noticeable to me.
metcalf stealing the show IMO

I had mixed feelings about it. It seemed more like they were paroding Trump, so I didn't mind the politics too much. In a way the show kinda felt like the old expression 'putting on an comfortable old shoe'. At other times, it reminded me of why I pretty much gave up on sitcoms altogether.
I have a hard time finding any current american sitcoms I enjoy, they all seem really predictable. I do enjoy some of the overseas ones: Plebs, Moone Boy and the older ones: Spaced, Boosh, Black Books, Men Behaving Badly.

Im interested in seeing how far she goes when it comes to putting her ideas and beliefs into the show. She has some pretty extreme views when it comes to government.

i do like seeing Roseanne and Jackie bickering over issues, they got some funny lines in there (caught me offguard when Roseanne asked if Jackie wanted to take a knee during grace, THAT made me laugh aloud.)

Watched the premier episodes..
boooooring.. too much political stuff
They clearly were offered alot of money to be there... and I really don't like that they made Dan's death not true. That's how the series ended.

The Last Man On Earth is a great screwball comedy. Also, Impractical Jokers still to this day is still funny as shit.

I didn't mind that. The 9th season was kinda ridiculous, anyway.
This new one did great in the ratings, like 18 million viewers, so apparently people are digging it so far. I'll be happy as long as they don't keep dwelling on political stuff and don't overdo pushing current issues constantly - it's ok to just make it about the family, it doesn't have to have giant societal implications.

Impractical Jokers is often fun, but when it sucks, it SUCKS HARD.
I haven't watched any of the new Rosanne. I'm sure i will eventually, and i'll probably enjoy it, Dan back alive won't bother me, i was never that deeply invested in the original ending anyway.

Has anyone checked out Disjointed on Netflix? I think you have to be high to really appreciated it, but there are some real belly laughs and Kathy Bates is wonderful as always.

I really enjoyed Nick Cannon's Wild'N Out in its first few seasons. Then all of a sudden it went from literally making me laugh out loud to not even smiling. I stopped watching.
Years later, MTV reboots the show. I'm curious, watch some of the first rebooted season. It was better than the crap years, but didn't really hold my interest.
The last two weeks in a row, i've come across the brand-new episodes as they've aired, and they've both been pretty good. Not quite as good as those original early seasons, but definitely worth watching again if i can remember to.

OH god, tried to watch the pilot for Splitting Up Together (Jenna Fischer, Oliver Hudson). MY god this is amazingly UNfunny. I like Jenna a lot from the Office, but man, this show is FLAT. disappointing.
Discovered Corner Gas, comedy outta Canada. Very dry but pretty funny.

I never watched the original Rosanne (just knew about Dan dead/not dead), so I was sort of lost about how the characters were related to each other, but finally got that straightened out – I think. We watched it On Demand and they ran the first two episodes tied together, which was a smart move because the second one was a definite improvement. I guess it’s not out of character for Rosanne to look like she’s about to laugh at her own jokes but I found it annoying. And I thought Jac-wa-linn was too strident to be funny. I don’t have a problem with political humor that I disagree with but I didn’t find much of the show, political or otherwise, funny.

I hope the show end up revolving more around Darlene and her kids, she will be what carries the show
anyone watch New Girl?
