Is anyone watching Travelers? Never new it existed til this past Friday. I like it.
I've been binge watching it this weekend. Up to s02e03. It's about a team of 5 whose consciousness is sent into people who live in the past. The people they inhabit are those who are about to die as opposed to taking over someone who still has life left to live.
Their mission is to course correct so that the future isn't an awful horrible place.
Eric McCormick stars and is unexpectedly excellent in his role.
If you like Sci-Fi television, Travelers is right up your alley.
OMG bragger. i do the same but nowhere near a 120". i would but 1 not money solvent, and 2 i worry on the investment vs how long the damn thing will last before needing replacing. a few random pixels out and I'm fucking focused only on those.

I hear ya. It does have it's drawbacks. For instance, it makes porn very intimidating.
I do miss seeing big blockbusters on big screens, but MAN i so do not like the theater going experience now. people are noisy and not apologetic, they feel their phones are a RIGHT to have during the movie experience, and if you bring your goddam baby in, it's fine that it makes noise because that does not distract me at all - hey man I'm a parent, YOU get to put up with my noise because dammit I could not keep my legs shut.
SORRY I'm ranty today, just in a mood. Missing movies from the 70s-80s when people behaved and I didn't mind smelling cig smoke at all. my fucking dad smoked a pipe and that goddam thing smelled GREAT to me. I don't smoke, but man I get the attraction.

lol, you're ranty everyday dude Second hand smoke is awful. People have been rude in theaters for ages. It's not new. I like the recliers in the theaters nowadays, unless I just ate, cuz then inevitably I'll be asking my companion what happened What movies are you going to that people are bringing babies?
1. i will not tolerate your personality shaming me. i'm quite sure on day 3 i told everyone i'm cantankerous. 2. quite sure cars/trucks pollute oh 10000x times more than cigs/pipes, BUT i see nobody ranting about getting rid of those. the stupid human race are idiots picking the weirdest goddam battles to fight. 3. NOT TRUE. i recall seeing movies in theaters in the 70s, never had an issue with noise, obviously no issue with cell phones. PEOPLE KNEW HOW TO BEHAVE IN PUBLIC. now it's a goddam 'this is my living room for 2 hours' mentality, and fuck anybody who doesn't like it. 4. last 4 movies i saw (been awhile so can't recall exact titles), there were goddam annoying brats. if the movie is loud, DO NOT BRING YOUR MUNCHKIN. babies no likey the loud noises. i do not care if you are the adult and wanting a night out - the unwritten rules of theaters is be COURTEOUS to the other viewers. just because you can tune out little billy's screams does NOT mean I can. or I'll make deal with ya - every scream he utters, i get to blast your goddam ear with an airhorn. because as someone with very good hearing, that's what i hear everytime your 'cute little guy' decides he needs to pipe up at the screen.
eta: I love you John, not an attack on you. just lots of shit lately in my dome.

But you are ranty everyday lol
People have already made their case on this issue. Sorry you don't see that though.
I'm sure since you recall seeing movies in the 70s without a problem that rudeness in theaters couldn't possibly have existed back then. Love it when people use their own limited experience as wide sweeping proof of shit. LOL
Still would love to know what kind of movies you're going to where people are bringing babies. roflmao
1. i will not tolerate your personality shaming me. your avatar is intimidating but I have refrained from mentioning it out of respect for your choice. my avatar is endearing. yours indicates i should find a homestead in hades somewhere.
2. the movies do not matter, right? the problem is attitude within the theater. this whole younger my generation attitude of "ME NOW" (um hi shootings recently) is the issue. humility, courtesy, respect of others - these concepts have been gone now oh since 2000 imo.
I haven't seen it , looks interesting. its filmed here in Vancouver. Its on Showcase channel in Canada. If and when ever I replace my big screen and if I start to stream stuff I'll maybe watch it. That's definite. Maybe.

there was a theater here that had two crying rooms. insulated rooms with a window that looked out at the screen , for parents with fussing little kids. I personally have never experienced rude behavior in a movie theater. maybe we are too polite here.

I've seen both seasons of the Travelers. My favorite part is the Marcie and David arc. Season 3 should be dropping on Netflix sometime this year.

David is hysterical. I wonder how old Marcie really is.

All caught up and loving it. Despite it's flaws which are of the type that usually make me run away screaming from a show like this, I'm fully captivated and cannot wait for the next season.

I started to watch it when it first showed up on Netflix but didn't get past the first episode. In fact, I didn't finish the first episode.
With the two of you giving it a thumbs up, I'm going to have to revisit it.

I'm so glad I watched this! I must have been looking for something else when I viewed the first episode way back when -- probably something light since I did have a phase of light murder mysteries about that time -- Midsomer Murders, Father Brown and Death in Paradise (all of which were great fun).
I loved this series. I impressed with the plot and the cast.

Any idea when that drops?

Starting watching this about a 2 weeks ago, binge the whole thing and just finished season 3.
What an amazing show... but it reminded me of why I stopped watching these types of shows lol I balled my eyes out way too much watching this one.

I binged the first two seasons. Loved them. Started watching this season and... the whole thing seems stupid.

I'm enjoying the S3, except for David, he's the most annoying , incompetent person on the planet. He'd better watch it or he's liable to put an eye out or accidentally blow his head off.

I finished the season. That was interesting, it seems like it was a series finale rather than a season finale. I wonder if they'll be renewed? If they are, some major character changes are in store.

Season 3 was the first season picked up Netflix, it is officially a Netflix original now so I am pretty confidant there will be a 4th season.
This season was a roller coaster... but im still recuperating.. that scene of David in the Archive... Marcy... oh my heart.
My biggest hope is they stick to some logic with the science, I absolutely love the idea of the science in this show.
Also the entire cast is Canadian and Gorgeous so much eye candy

I was yelling at Phillip to take his ef'in meds. It was kind of ridiculous that he would compromise his effectiveness to that extent at the expense of the others.

Yea I agree, but at the same time is has a stronger understanding of the science that they are using and I think he was testing something.

My take on it is that Philip's host was a heroin addict and it took most of Season 1 for him to get off the addiction so he's wary about becoming addicted to any drug, even a "traveler's" issued drug. The drug was supposed to suppress the multiple future timeline visions and Philip having those really compromised his effectiveness. Even crossing the street was a hazard, not to mention driving and basic functioning. I think he would eventually be able to sort what is real and maybe even control it, but he definitely isn't there yet.
