PostSubject: Grand Canyon   Grand Canyon EmptyMon Sep 10, 2018 2:46 pm

Zaphod, woke up Saturday morning with 10 minutes before this movie aired on cable. I'd seen it many, many years ago, but had forgotten how good it was.

Cast included, Kevin Kline, Steve Martin, Mary McDonnell, Danny Glover, Alfre Woodard, and a very yound Mary-Louise Parker.

Have you seen it, and if you have, what's your opinion?

ah Hodge, been years since I've seen it, totally forgotten any details. vaguely remembering enjoying it. I can rewatch if you want to discuss it..? vague recollection, Steve M gets shot, is this correct?

That's the one Zaphod. hai

But his shooting is just a precursor to the rest of the movie.
Don't go out of your way to see it, I just knew if anyone had seen it, it would be you.  hai

Davidalan, I'd forgotten how good it was too. And, its been years since I'd seen it as well.

I just watched 'The Place beyond the Pines', first time watch. Pretty good movie - it reminded me a bit of GC, as if I remember that one correctly it also moved from story to story covering the lives of different people over time.

Hmm, I'll have to mull over that comparison. TPBTP is great -- I was stunned by what I'll spoiler-avoid by calling The Window Scene.

Mind you it's been awhile since I've seen GC, I may be way off base. I do remember a Steve Martin flick that dealt with several families' stories, I think it was GC.

Grand Canyon was a pretty good film.  I remember how "LA" it was.  I thought the baby left on the doorstep was a bit too much, but otherwise, good performances.  I enjoyed Steve Martin's performance as a crotchety Horror Film director. He does get shot, doesn't he? And that changes his mind about the Horror business.
