I hadn't heard about this until today. Looks interesting. Great cast (Emma Stone, Sally Field, Justin Theroux and Jonah Hill), reviews are good. I might try to check it out this weekend.

I'm in! I mean -- I'm really in! This looks really good.
There are ten episodes -- are you going to binge-watch or watch an episode every so often? I ask because this looks like a series I would want to binge-watch, but should take it slow and savor every episode -- if you know what I mean.

Not sure. I'm going to try to watch at least one episode and if it grabs and I have the time I'll probably watch several.
Look forward to your first impressions sandi.

Ditto!
I'll watch the first episode today or tomorrow and will check in then. ('cause you know, tonight is Wynona and Outcast )

I'm half way through this surreal mess of a mini series. I think Philip Seymour Hoffman in the lead role would have made this show fantastic. As it stands, unless the finale is mind blowing, Maniac might get a death sentence.

Only seen the first 3 episodes. Honestly not sure if I'll bother finishing?

Binged the entire thing this weekend. I agree that Jonah Hill leaves something to be desired, but I think Emma Stone and Sally Field more than make up for it. Also the two lead scientists are a freaking trip.
This felt like a cross between Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Black Mirror. I was totally into it. Of course, the subject matter was timely for me given that I've been dealing with a loved ones significant mental health issues. I really enjoyed the message they were trying to get across, though I won't go more in depth until I see that some others have finished the series.

I finished it. It was weird and ultimately blah. I suppose there are some who will connect with certain aspects of the show, which might make it more enjoyable for them. For me though, this was nothing more than a character study about a dysfunctional love story. Not what I was expecting it to be, much like The First.

Watched the trailer for this today, I am very intrigued
Intrigued, tho worried at the Jonah Hill input, as he tends to slant flicks to the campy fun. A shame as I think he can do serious roles quite well given the chance.

Very ironic, zap. Hill plays the only serious character in this thing.

You wont find much camp in this show. It veers more towards satire and dark humor.

What a weird setting in the "current" timeline. Looks to be circa late 80's early 90's where I guess micro chip technology hasn't been fully developed so you have old IBM looking PC's and something that resembles a WOPR supercomputer. Everyone smokes like a chimney in indoor public places. It takes place before smoking regulations have been implemented. I don't recall if cell phones were being used, have to check that out. It seems that Bio Tech and robotics are the only industries that excelled beyond the apparent setting. Actually the robots appear rather primitive, lol.

Holy Fuck.
I have never been able to relate so much to a character before, I swear this show is semi based on my life.
By far one the greatest shows I have seen in a long time.
FYI, there is more truth and reality in this show than anyone realizes.
