Ive watched two full episodes. I liked the first episode. The second one was way weird. Even the bard sings weirdly.

I think it has possibilities. If it can keep a straight line. Episode two had some zigging and zagging.

I'm liking it so far. Frankly, the recent spate of fantasy programming is of a much higher quality from top to bottom than what has been the norm. That may be due to the popularity of GoT but whatever the reason, I'm grateful for it.

There seems to be a huge spike in general interest, fantasy/sci-fi mix together very well, even tabletop gaming seems to be making a come back

I saw the first episode, looks interesting. I guess it's based on a popular book series.

Finished.
Thoroughly enjoyed this show. It wasn't perfect. There were some head scratching things in this story and it was told in a bit of a disjointed manner. Overall though, it was very entertaining.
The Witcher picks up steam about half way through season one. As it does, it becomes a your priority. You'll find yourself putting other shows on hold to finish this one.
Anya Chalotra will make you an instant fan hers through her portrayal of Yennifer, a hunchback farm girl who seeks to gain power as a court mage. She steals every scene she's in.
If you have any interest in this genre, this is must see tv.

Is it one of those shows that's only available through some particular streaming service? If so, which one?

They doubled the timeline, like in the books, they just didn't do a good job of clarifying it,
technically the first and last episodes happen in the present and the other episodes are the past, with flashes into the present.
Like I think the scene where he fights the female witcher is present right before he ends up back at the Queen's castle.
I really enjoyed it.

eek. to be honest this just confused me more. i just finished episode three. i was so confused. i have just decided to give up on making sense of things and just ride on the roller coaster. i like the one apprentice witch more. and her secret meeting with her boyfriend??? the rest of the sorcery crowd doesn't appeal to me though. they don't have energy.

I hear ya David, and it gets even more confusing in ep 4 cuz, as Desi says, they don't do a great job of letting you know you're looking at an historical event. However, it all comes together quite nicely, so you're doing the right thing by just enjoying the ride.

I just finished Ep 3 and I'm also confused about the timelines. Guess I'll have to watch the first couple of episodes again and/or read a synopsis of the source material.

The Episode title "Banquets, Bastards, and Burials" reminds me of "Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things". i assume Witcher is marketed as the GOT of Netflix.

I am so upset we have to wait so long to see the next season, TV really needs to get its shit together.
