to be honest, I am truly amazed at how many rns the sox are producing, especially with middlebrooks not hitting, and Napoli in a slump, they are still putting a tron of runs on the board every week

| Sox won another series, now if they can shut down the Orioles, I'll be happy with a split.
hard to believe that lester right now is the weak link in the pitching staff, he needs to get his head out of his ass and pitch

| Also, how does St Louis lose arguably their 2 best starters and have a better pitching staff as a result | |

| lost 5 in a row - they are so pathetic right now
But I hear that Detroit is looking for a closer so maybe we can sell them Papelbon for some good prospects. One of our local beat writers thinks that we could also get a decent package for Kyle Kendrick of all people. I say trade both.
They need to drop both Young's though - Michael hasn't been too terrible defensively but I think he's leading the league in hitting into a double play - not good. Delmon is a black hole in the middle of the line up.
Howard needs to go on the DL and take until next Spring to try to get into a somewhat healthy way.
Its getting to the point where its difficult to even watch them anymore.

| apparently there is a move happening - they sent down AAA 2B back to AAA (he hardly played anyway) so someone new is going to be added to the roster
and I have a feeling that the Big Z will be called up soon - whether its for his pitching or his hitting, I can't say
Carlos Zambrano in case you didn't know that we signed him a few weeks ago

if nothing else you can watch the games for the inevitable explosion I can't wait. The other day I read a quote from him saying that he's found God and is a different person. He may end up in the bullpen. That should make him happy, he prefers starting. I wonder if he could handle a fielding position - he can hit the ball

After last night's I think we will be looking....Valverde has lost it I think....I have more faith in Phil Coke, anf that's not saying much....your closer isn't suposed to have given up 5 home runs already this season - in limited work too....I'm afraid we'll lose one of our big bats to get one. You need a DH? We have Victor Martinez..... |

how is he hitting< I always liked him Not bad really, slow start, but he's heated up in June. About .250 right now. We already have Alex Avila, who can't hit but is a rock behind the plate, and Bryan Pena, who can, so Martinez IMO is expendable if we have to... |

of course, in the one playoff game he's pitched for us since coming back, he dropped a 4 run lead and lost Hmmmm.... interesting....... Tigers take two of three from the Twins to end up with a 500 road trip, about as good as they're going to get I think.....yesterday was an interesting bit of coincidence trivia: Torii Hunter got his 300th HR off the Twins....his first HR came in 1999, as a Twin, against the Tigers... |

against a team with no bullpen of their own Pap blew 3 saves this WEEK the rest of the pen blew a 6 run lead in the 7th (they won that one though) We pretty much need a do over I think. It kills me to say it but its true. Top to bottom - players, managers, GM - we just need to start over.

Top to bottom - players, managers, GM - we just need to start over. our closer cannot come into a game without giving up runs, he just can't do it, so now we have a guy who can't pitch on consecutive days filling in as our closer. we started the year with 2 'proven' closers, one is in a sling and the other has danial barditis
