Yes, 3D was very well done, I think it enhances it. 2 years until Episode VIII, next year there will be a standalone movie called Rogue Squadron. Every other year there will be an Episodic release, and the other year a standalone movie. I know they are planning a Han Solo origin movie as well as a Boba Fett origin movie.

I think the next one will be better. The only disappointment I had was that Luke wasn't shown until the end. It felt more like a set up for the next movie.

yea it was definitely a setup for the next one.. I'm thinking she will be the next person he trains and it'll be about how its the first Jedi he trains since he stopped.

I just don't understand why it was called the force awakens, I really expected it to be more about the history of the force and the truth about the dark side.

It was very predictable and pretty much a recycled storyline with some differences. I also hate the way the storm troopers look now, their suits seem so cheap.

I missed the first couple minutes cause I was in line getting popcorn, but do they even explain how Ray has the force?? there was nothing about her family history or how she is connected to the force. She was under the impression it was all a myth yet she was able to use and control the force better than Luke was??

No, Nothing about her is really explained. I think she is Luke's daughter. We should find out more about her in the next one. I was disappointed at all, I rank it he 3rd best all time.

I was thinking the same thing, she has to some how be related to Luke in order to posses the powers she has and not even know it

Its been to long but in the older movies Luke never actually has a love interest right?

Im thinking the next movie isn't too far away they left way to much unexplained to make everyone wait to long.

And hopefully the lightsaber fights are better in the next one

In the movies, no love interest for Luke, in the books, he is married with a son. His son is named Ben in the books that followed Return of the Jedi

I also worry that they are going to keep them too friendly for young kids, and avoiding complex storylines, which is one of the things I love about Star Wars.

The Force Awakens wasn't really a new storyline.. it was all stuff that had happened previously in star wars they just happened to different people in this one.

Star Wars: Episode VII - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Star Wars: Episode VII   Star Wars: Episode VII - Page 3 EmptyWed Jan 06, 2016 12:55 pm

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"

The movie is the first installment in Lucasfilm's new stand-alone "Star Wars" stories series that is scheduled for a Dec. 16, 2016 release date. The events in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" are set before "Star Wars: A New Hope" and revolve around the plan of resistance fighters to steal the plans of the Death Star.

It is directed by Gareth Edwards of "Godzilla" fame and produced by Kathleen Kennedy. The movie's cast includes Felicity Jones ("The Theory of Everything"), Diego Luna ("Elysium"), Ben Mendelsohn ("Bloodline"), Donnie Yen ("Blade II"), Jiang Wen ("Let the Bullets Fly"), Forest Whitaker ("Lee Daniels' The Butler"), Mads Mikkelsen ("Casino Royale"), Alan Tudyk ("Rogue One"), and Riz Ahmed ("Nightcrawler").

"Star Wars: Episode VIII"

"Star Wars: Episode VIII" has been confirmed to release on May 26, 2017, two years after "The Force Awakens" and four decades after the release of "Star Wars: A New Hope." Rian Johnson ("Breaking Bad") will be writing and directing the film. Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman will be producing it, while J.J. Abrams will serve as the executive producer. The film is reportedly going to star Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, and Oscar Isaac.

"Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo" (working title)

To be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, the duo behind "The Lego Movie" and "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," "Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo" (working title) will tell the tale of how a smuggler named Han Solo turned into a hero and a pop culture icon.

The movie's screenplay will be done by father and son tandem Lawrence and Jon Kasdan ("Dawson's Creek"). Lawrence has co-written screenplays for other "Star Wars" films, including the recently released "The Force Awakens," "The Empire Strikes Back," and "Return of the Jedi."

Kathleen Kennedy will produce and Will Allegra will co-produce the film that is confirmed to release on May 25, 2018.

"Star Wars: Episode IX"

"Star Wars: Episode IX" is the third and final part of the third trilogy that started with "The Force Awakens." The movie has Colin Trevorrow ("Jurassic Park") as its director. It will release sometime in 2019.

"Star Wars Anthology: Boba Fett"

This will be the second installment of "Star Wars Anthology." It is coming in 2020, according to Entertainment Weekly. No other details have been announced or confirmed as of this time.

There are similarities, but its not the same. I think it was a way to bridge the gap between the two generations.

oh fer gawd sakes goo ahead and post whatcha want, it won't ruin it for me, i go to the movies for mindless escape and knowing the plot of this movie will not ruin the experience for me.
i'm going with a variation of the good versus evil, one side wants to rule the galaxy and the other wants to prevent it storyline

I suspect i'm kinda close

yea it was definitely a setup for the next one..

She was under the impression it was all a myth yet she was able to use and control the force better than Luke was??
you need to get to the theater early and get that out of the way, hell when i go i have time to watch half of a different movie and still have time to answer all the trivia questions get popcorn sign up for a rewards card play a video game read a book, and shave. tongue

that said, my wife and i are two of the 14 people in america who haven't seen it yet 55

my movie didn't start until 30 minutes after the scheduled time.

first there were regular previews, then the 3D previews Rolling Eyes

I was 1/2 way through my popcorn by the time the movie started!

Hurry up and go see it so we can talk about it out in the open.  I had to message EZ my thoughts on Rey so we wouldn't spoil the rest of you.

You're the last one, Clarke fnger
yeah, I usually have to go pee after I drink the oil drum of soda i buy to go with the popcorn by then. tongue

it cost me about $30 for just me - $16 for the ticket and $13 for a medium popcorn and soda :O It's been YEARS since I've been to a movie and I really didn't expect it to be that much lol The recliner seat was nice though - that's the first time I've been since they remodeled the whole place. Everything was different.

J would like them for not having his legs swished although I'm not sure they'll help his problem with falling asleep during the movie.

He'll probably want one for home 55
