| yup, go cubs and farewell to the best clutch hitter to ever put on a uniform. he broke the curse of the bambino, he single handedly won at least one world series and left me with some great memories. certainly the best red sox player i ever saw, and i go back to seeing guys like YAZ and fred lynn and jim rice and rico petrocelli play. he was without a doubt the best i ever saw. | |

replacing one of the BOAT players is never easy. I'm hoping that someday in the future we are saying the things we say about Papi regarding one of the guys already here. Betts, Bogarts, benentendi, even Bradley have the potential to be superstars for years to come. There will never be another Big PAPI but there will be another irreplaceable superstar on this team, it's just a matter of who it is. when they got Ortiz he wasn't anyone somebody would call a superstar, even the first WS, he was the number 2 behind Manny. It takes years of excelling, of being the guy everyone looks to for the big hit, and then delivering, to become that, and i really think that any one of those guys, or someone we have never heard of, will fill that spot. I mean, when Papi ended up here it was because the twins didn't think he was worth keeping.

| what they really need is someone to replace Pedro martinez, or Schilling, a guy who demands that you give him the ball when you need a win and goes out there and gets it. not someone who wilts at the thought | |

| Just so you know, I rooted for the Sox...even though the fella was right next to me rooting the other way. It was a good game. Sorry they're out of it already. | |

| they just Gave Tito his first ever loss in a world series game.
this one will go 6-7 games, noone will run away with anything.
look for the tribe to come back with a win in the windy city and put the pressure back on the cubbies.
no celebratory wine for madden just yet.
Arietta was every bit as good as Kluber was in game 1,

I was telling my boyfriend how uneasy I feel with the Cubs possibly winning the world series and Donald Trump being a presidential candidate. Something just isn't sitting right with me.

| a cubs world championship and the trump being a president would seem like a movie script more than whats really happening.

| soooo, a game 7 and one team's fans are gonna be happy to end a decade's( or century plus) old drought.
a fitting end to whats been a good world series.
The joy on one side will be at the least matched by the crushing defeat on the other.
i usually don't watch after the sox are eliminated, but I will be glued to the set tonight.
hopefully it'll be a 1 run game in the ninth, with the losing team having runners in scoring position to either win it or lose it.

I couldn't keep my eyes open for the finish. I honestly thought after the 8th that cleveland was gonna pull it out. Congrats to da Cubs, and the indians can hold their heads high, the job they did getting as far as they did was impressive.
