| Sox get Sale!!! They gave up a lot to get him, but I like the deal, It makes them serious contenders not just next year, but for the next few years. I also like the addition of Thornburg, Rotation and Bullpen seem to be set, now if Panda can actually play this year, plug in Encarcnacion, the Sox will be loaded. | |

| they gave up a ton, but that's what it was gonna take to get him, he's under control for the next 3 years and is only 27.
They do need a solid clean up hitter, but other than that it seems like they filled a bunch of hole

| I got nothing. Actually I'm glad about that. I think it's def time to see what our farm is made of. I also glad Hellickson accepted the qualifying offer and will return. We were only going to go out and get one just like him anyway so at least we'll have that consistency Anyway - can't wait for Spring Training | |

| Phillies extend Odubel Herrera.
I like it. Hopefully this will kill the trade rumors. I'd understand if they got a king's ransom for him but otherwise he's exactly who we should be building around. Great rule 5 pick up from the Rangers 2 years ago.

| Bucholz traded to the Phillies for a prospect, Clay, you had me frustrated for years, I hope you figure it out in Philadelphia. | |

| I nearly fell off my chair after reading that. (the trade headline, not Ez's post)
I have no idea who that prospect is - never heard of him.
I'm surprised they got another starter but I guess there's still some uncertainty regarding Nola, and maybe Velasquez.
No biggie, they have money to burn and hopefully can flip him in July. And maybe a change in scenery will help out old Clay.

| yeah, he should be fine, theres not like Philly is a pressure cooker, a nice easy going baseball city, they will wrap their loving arms around clay and make him feel welcome, even if he has the occasional injury, stiffness hangnail or PMS episode that kept him out of the line up here I think he may end up being a good pick up for philly though, it's a change, it's the national league, and he may just turn out to be a good pick up. he was gonna be a reliever here, and they needed to get back under the salary tax threshold and he helps do that. | |

| well, to be fair, hardly anyone attends the games right now so he's probably safe from the usual scrutiny. We do need bullpen help but I'm thinking that we picked him to hedge on our baby starters in case of injury. But, who knows? He may very well be a swing man. I only say starter because of the money. | |

| he will be a starter, and if he's on his game he can be a very good pitcher. It's just been frustrating like EZ said because he has so much potential to be great then something always seems to derail it. | |

| Right up our alley
This will be the first season devoid of any of our '08 team. It'll be a little weird.
