| This week we'll get to see the return of some of our favorite series along with the premieres of new shows. If you run across something you'd like to recommend, why don't we put it in this thread.
I'm looking forward to, Prodigal Son. Tonight (09-23-19) Fox, 9:00PM/ET

| Man-o-man, really enjoyed Prodigal Son. Initially, I got an Elementary vibe, especially since both pilots had shattered glasses in them. Plus, both of the protagonist are emotionally stunted. Sherlock, because he thought he was smarter than everyone else. And, Malcolm because he truly believes he's just like his father. A serial killer in the making. Didn't like the plot surrounding the "Pilot", especially since it involved his father. Even at the end of the episode, Malcolm quizzed his father wondering whether he led the killer to his files. Now, what really has me jazzed is the new series, Emergence. HMoG! I was on the edge of my seat throughout the hour. Who's (What's) Piper? Did she crash the drone? Was she a passenger on the drone? Love, love, love, Police Chief, Jo Evans. Totally believed Allison Tolman as the character. | |

| My wife hooked me on to "The Good Place" and I just started binging it on Netflix. I find it bizarre and hilarious and sort of addicting. I guess S4 just premiered on 9/26. | |

MrBill, if I'm not mistaken, this is going to be the last season for this series. I've always loved Kristen Bell, and what do I need to say about Ted Danson. - ExpletiveDeleted wrote:

Is this his latest project, ExpletiveDeleted? I haven't' heard of it. I've always been a huge fan of Burns' work.

I'm only on S2 and I'm having trouble imagining how it can be stretched out for several more seasons without becoming repetitive. Del, I may check out the Ken Burns doc, maybe I'll learn to appreciate Country Music, lol. Has he tackled the history of Rock, yet?

| yes it is his latest work..... I got hooked on his work with The Civil War I have watched it every time they air it. the only one I havent seen is the one on Baseball
well Bill he has done Jazz, Blues and now Country so the natural progression would be Rock & Roll
there is hope for you yet Bill, I grew up hating Country but realized that some on the songs I liked that were played on "pop" stations were actually "country" songs.
I still dont like what they call country today......maybe in time or not

well Bill he has done Jazz, Blues and now Country so the natural progression would be Rock & Roll... Let me see...I've seen the one on War, and the one on the Vietnam War specifically. Obviously, the one on the Civil War. One of the best things I've ever seen. And, like you ExpletiveDeleted, I see it anytime it airs. I've also seen, The Roosevelts. I'm not the biggest fan of Country music either, MrBill. But, ED is right about country songs being turned into pop music. Fell in love with the song, "I Will Always Love You", from the movie, Bodyguard. Didn't realize until it won all of those awards that it was originally written and song by Dolly Parton as a country song. ETA: Forgot to add another series I premiered. Evil - This premiered last night (Thursday, 09-27-19), at 10pm on CBS. Another good premiere. Definitely peeked my interest. Can't wait for the next episode.

| Imo, country music is a lot like rap: tons and tons of it are being cranked out pretty much constantly, and the vast majority is crap, but when it's good, it can be really REALLY good. | |

Well, don't get me started on Rap/Hip-hop music. My oldest daughter went thru a faze where that was all she listened to. And when I heard her prancing thru the house with earphones and singing, "Bitches and hoes get on the floor", I could've screamed. Another great episode of Emergence. Really enjoying this so far.

That's like when Disco drove a lot of kids to country music.

| Not sure I'm going further with " Evil"! I've watched every episode so far, and we haven't come across anything evil yet. I thought it was going to be something like "Fringe", where we would see real-world phenomenon. But, they've been able to prove everything they've seen is just a hoax. I'm still loving Prodigal Son. And, Emergence is still #1 on my new series "watch-list". | |

| Who watched El Camino, Jesse's followup story from Breaking Bad? I loved it, and as Vince Gilligan called Breaking Bad a modern Western, El Camino kept with the theme and did not disappoint. | |

The lyrics use different jargon, but have basically the same meaning... - ExpletiveDeleted wrote:

not the Country I like but the stuff they play on radio now See? Doesn't amaze me at all. There are a LOT of people who enjoy both current Country and current Rap. The genres may sound very different, but they represent very similar cultures and are really not all that different other than timbres. - MrBill60 wrote:

I've heard positive reviews from several people whose opinions i respect, yourself now included. My friend Derek wants to watch Mrs. Mo and i watch it (he promises no spoilers and wants to re-watch) and we might just let him.
