| at this point, I think I want Victorino back - he's only looking for 3 yr, $10mil/yr defensively solid and brings more power than Pagan clearly a fan favorite and fits in the clubhouse | |

| Looks like the Sox are signing Napoli, I can live with that, he's a solid 1B, and can back up Salty too. _________________ He is the Prince who was promised, and his is the song of Ice and Fire

my guess is they try like hell to trade salty, and have lavarnway and napoli split the catching duties, or add in ross and have all 3 of them split the duties. I think they want to keep lavarnway, and salty is tradable, for another piece. everyone saya how well napoli hits in Fenway, but they forget he was facing the red sox pitching staff, still I like the pick up, and for 3 years i can live with it, at least he has some plate discipline which was sorely lacking last year

and since the new rumor is that Pagan is resigning with San Fran, I'm really thinking we're going to be welcoming old Vic back either that or there is a conspiracy that the Phillies aren't allowed to sign anyone

| Phillies and Diamondbacks are discussing Justin Upton for Cliff Lee. Money coming to AZ would also be involved.
I find this odd still. Halladay could still be questionable.

too much money too many years, 2 years 20-22 mil would have been plenty, but a good player. Some effing pitching might help, just might

| Vic is good. He has some brain lapses that will drive you crazy but he's a good guy (no beer and wings) and he will work hard to impress you. As long as he's not the "star" he's a great addition. by brain lapse I mean he can watch the 3 preceding batters walk on 4 pitches, then he'll get up there and swing at the first pitch and manage to pop up into a double play. Things like that. I think we're be trotting the same old same old out there. still NOTHING!!! | |

I think we're be trotting the same old same old out there. still NOTHING!!! right now our pitching is lester, Bucholz, Lackey, doubront, and god only knows who else. and if anyone thinks the hitting is better than it was in august lat year before the trade, they're crazy. I see a long year ahead.

| I hear the Utley is "on a mission" - let's hope so. Halladay also claims to be healthy - of course, he claimed that last year We're not used to this patience thing that they're employing this year. I know Ruben's been criticized for moving too fast but this is ridiculous. They've done nothing. The Braves and Nationals are moving in all directions. This may be a long season for us too. | |

| We're looking for a miracle worker and there's just not one there. Our biggest need is for our big contract guys to be what they are paid to be - Howard and Utely need to be in the running for comeback player of the year - that's what we need. And for Cliff Lee to win more than 2 or 4 games. We haven't even gotten a reliever yet | |

sounds like something we would do but he's only signed for 2013. I wouldn't give up Worley for that. the problem with trying to trade him is whomever he gets traded to will have the same problem the sox have, which is going to be signing him after the season, i think no matter where he goes he's gonna try ourt free agency, especially with Boras as an agent, which means noone will want to give up anything unless they know he is signable, which I don't think he is right now. especially with the money guys like victorino and napoli, and BJ upton are getting. he's gonna hold out, hope he has another great season, and ask for the world

| I don't think the Phils do much with Boras' clients
OF is overpriced this year. By that account I guess I'm a little glad that they haven't done anything yet. But I think they're getting backed into a corner now.

| KK is #4 unless they get someone else. They have some AAA guys that could compete - Tyler Cloyd may have an inside track to be #5 KK's come a long way in the last couple of years - he's not so bad anymore. We need a couple of cheap guys to offset the $60million trio | |

| I think the Brown trade was a false alarm - and hopefully OVERLY exaggerated. I can't see trading him now that he'll have a chance to play.
yeah - I'm surprised and not surprised about that. I think WIP mentioned 3 yrs and $80mil is on the table.

Over the last week, have heard compliments from other teams about the way that the Cubs are methodically rebuilding, from the ground up.

| yeah they are def rebuilding pretty well with youth and the farm system...and through dumping big salaries and clearing house and using our best players for trade bait for many prospects...we have a shit ton of prospects....rizzo, starlin, barney, campana, and a few others already up last year have been impressive so far...this year we will show off another young group along with them...and when were ready and think we have a chance with the core we'll spend some money for some top free agents to put us over in the coming years to go for it all.... | |
