They said there would be 14 episodes...all uninterrupted, to their credit...anybody kept count? Six or so, so far. maybe they're gearing for a conclusion?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. She got out with the kid, but left the 2 guys. Although they were able to get away too, so not sure if Emma knew they would get away too or if she just left them there to fend for themselves.

Seems to me that she did leave them there to die because they seemed to know nothing about what was going on.

The actress who plays Emma is awesome, I must say. Lots of nuances to her acting. She's great.

She's the cult expert, so I guess they want to show you why she became expert in her field. Maybe there will be more of a tie in than that. Some people in her parents cult could be part of the "following?" Or maybe she herself is part of the "following?"

The female followers have all been great...even beginning with the one lady who committed suicide, right there in the police station And Maggie...I think they must be tapping into that female tendency to be obsessive...

And, it seems like every episode is now going to be about which unexpected character is revealed to be part of Carroll's groupies.

This most recent episode is the first time I have felt that way, because I have really liked the show up until now. I think there should be more to the plot than who's a groupie.

I'll still keep watching and hope the plot picks up a bit more.

I like that we never know, who is a "Follower". The cop, was a total surprise, and I liked that.

Emma, leaving the guys behind, was awesome, I am guessing she had her orders to take care of Joe Jr, and everyone else, is just collateral damage.

The female FBI agent was raised in a cult, and managed to break free (or so I am guessing) in the scene, where she is leaving her parents, and tells them, I love you, remember that, I expected FBI or what ever to do a raid on that place.

I really have no complaints about this show. Obviously Carroll has a plant in the FBI, he knows to much, he also has to have a guy or girl on the outside, that gets that information for him, and someone who relays that info to him. And not the lawyer he had her fingers cut off. He has never put all his eggs in one basket, some of his followers, have no idea who the other followers are.

Someone on the FB ABC Message board, thinks that Mike Weston (FBI Agent), may be Ryans Follower per Joe Carrolls instructions. At first I thought Mike was just a major suck up, to Ryan, but now I am beginning to question that.

And, Kevin Bacon, looks awesome in a pair of Levis.

I had a different reaction to the reveal about the cop. I was like - come on now people! Is it just always gonna be about who is the surprise "follower" for this week. It's not a surprise to me at this point. At this point it is more like a groan.

Yea, I called her being in on it, and at the reveal, I rolled my eyes. It is becoming a cheap plot tool.

That's an interesting take. I didn't consider that, even though the wife had a follower.

That person was suspicious of Mike Weston from the beginning. She has good instincts about how a show could be written.

In my life, I am suspicious, jaded and rarely trust anyone, and if someone is nice to me, I wonder what they want. On the internet, I am more trusting. lol. You would think it would be the opposite way.

When it comes to tv, I suspend reality, while I love to read other peoples ideas, and theories about shows. I rarely have my own. And I like it that way. I want to be surprised.

That said, I am glad you all can see what is gonna happen, and I appreciate you all not telling me, before it happens.

Also, the numbers for The Following are wonderful, it is likely to be picked up, for another season. I certainly hope so.

I knew the female cop was a Follower, as soon as she said, "I'll go with you, I know the roads there".

Iggy I do like the twist that the Followers are not followers of Carroll necessarily, but one of each of the others...Emma is probably Joey's Follower, we now know who Claire's is.....not too sure about Mike being Ryan's...not yet...the storyline about him being a suckup sounds more fun to me Ilove how Ryan just trash talked those two klutzes while tied up...that they are still alive is due to absolutely no skill on their part...

And how cool were those laser beams on his gut as he stepped out the front door?

Yes, that was cool, he dropped like stone in water, and if those 2 Joe followers had not shown up, they would have been dead. They might as well be. Emma bailed on them, one is hurt, and the other is clueless, and they have no way to contact any other followers.

Well, how I see it, all the followers are ultimately followers of Carroll, they just have different roles and different people they keep a watch on.

Finally caught up... this show srsly needs to get to the point already..

Exactly, desi! On last night's episode, it was sooo obvious that Carroll would escape. Come on now!

I was sooo bored. Not sure if I will keep watching, but I do like Bacon's acting. He is awesome.

It kind of reminds me of shows that are called the "monster of the week" shows. The Following seems to be the "follower/ers of the week" show. lol

I guess, I am in the minority, I do not find it, predictable. I did think Carroll would escape, but I thought it would be in the wardens car, not the lawyer.

That said, I have never over thought shows,and that includes LOST, I loved to read others had about ideas and theories, about LOST. Same with this show, I want to be surprised.

I haven't given up. I still like the story and the actors in it.

And last week when they got to the mansion and all the followers started coming out the door - that was a little creepy - seeing how many people worshipped him

It also lays the groundwork to us to think....these guys could be everywhere...anywhere....yes I know it's a convenient plot device...we can stick a follower in somewhere, anytime we're feeling too comfy with how things are progressing

Well, at this point, the only reason I'm watching is for Bacon. The scene where Charlie dies, with the sappy violin music is playing, was almost funny it was so bad.

yeah, that whole scene could've been better - a little more anger and less sap for sure

but I enjoyed the rest of the episode, I though it moved along pretty well.

Watched last night, and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought that was the best episode since the premier. Glad that I hadn't given up on it yet.

I liked that Paul and Jacob were back. And, interesting to have Jacob's mother in it too.

Wonder how the Jacob/Emma relationship is going to progress? Also, Jacob's first killings was very emotional and heart wrenching.

I think Jacob's going to have his way with her...and she better let him, if she knows what's good for her...notice how Joe wanted Roderick to find him too....he wants Emma out his business...feeling a little guilty I think...

The wacko chick using the spear shooter, then the nail gun, was a refreshing breath of insanity, the show was starting to portray these Followers as too normal...I think they're probably all as nutty, and as dangerous.

Also I thought the idea of killing everybody named Claire Matthews was a little cheap...having been used previously...

I'm hoping that Jacob kills Emma.

I do not understand how killing anyone can make their life "mean something" both Charlie and Paul said it.

Emma did not want Jacob or Paul to come back. Not sure how her and Jacob are gonna play out, but Rodericks imitation of Jacob, was really good.

I think Roderick sees Emma as a threat to his position of Joes number 1 guy, and I think Roderick is feeling lessin charge, now that Joe is back.

Iggs - As far as the statement about the killing/life meaning something - this is what I got out of it, as least as far as Paul and Jacob.

Jacob had never killed anyone before. Apparently, to be in Joe's "crew" killing people is like a badge of honor, or a rite of passage or something.

So, for Jacob to kill Paul, that meant that Paul's death had some great significance, at least for the Joe "following" because it gave Jacob his "badge" of having killed someone.

That's what I got out it anyway.
