When it aired, this was one of my top tier must see immediately shows.

Captain Vane is in the current season of TWD.

Black Sails was inconsistent in lotsa ways. Alliances would shift unexpectedly. The plot would zig when you thought it would zag. Even the life expectancy of the main cast was constantly in question. The only two constants of the show were:

and that it was consistently great week in week out, season after season.
