good God no - he's one of 2, maybe 3 guys we can depend on out there
Hes a solid closer, but its revenge I want to see.
revenge? You didn't want him. Its not his fault
He didn't even wait for an offer, left for Philly without a second thought, he's a turncoat!
maybe he was tired of fried chicken
he'll get tired and old, and you'll still be paying him, but philly is used to that the sox just pay other teams to have thier old tired players play for them instead

Pierre has bunted back to him twice and neither time could Garza make the throw to first , it wasn't even close
We're going to regret not scoring there.

oh cool ..woke up and seen we got beat by 7...today is Volstad so you can go ahead and count yourself another win there..Volstad is terrible and im not sure why he's still in the rotation..he's 0-5 with about a 6 era or so...we have AAA pitchers that are ready..

yeah, I know. Volstad was on the Marlins - I think we sent him to AAA once. We hit him well.
Plus, Halladay pitches tonight and he is overdue for a "W"
The runs were fun to watch but I'm more excited that our bullpen shut it down. If they can get righted, we could start coming up in the standings. We'd have about 4-5 more wins if not for the pen implosions.

I think we have Bard Lester and beckett lined up. bard has been pitching well, and if Lester and beckett pitch like they did their last start, don't expect too many runs. especially Lester, he was nearly unhittable last time out

I remember that
There was also the incident with one of the Rockies pitchers - broke his neck! I think that was a ball hit back to the mound, not thrown
speaking of the Rockies - Jamie Moyer is 5-1, I believe. He had a 2 rbi infield single last night. I love that guy.

crazy. I always think about Juan Encarnacion getting hit in the head with a foul ball while in the batting circle in 2007...I always wonder how bad Aaron Miles feels for accidently ending the dudes career.

NEW YORK -- Baseball's owners have approved changing the format of this year's AL and NL Division Series from a 2-2-1 format to a 2-3 format, giving the team with home-field advantage the last three games of the five-game series.
The change, approved by owners on Thursday, was made to accommodate baseball's new one-game wild-card playoff round. The new round of playoffs was added after schedules were set with the regular season ending Oct. 3 and the World Series starting Oct. 24.
Teams with home-field advantage will host Games 3, 4, and 5, eliminating one travel day, and the wild-card playoff winners will start the Division Series at home.
Baseball could revert back to a 2-2-1 format in 2013, when the regular season is tentatively set to start on April 1, with a Sunday night game possible the previous day. Baseball is shifting from the midweek start it used in 2011 and 2012.
The 2-2-1 format has been used in the divisional round since 1998.
Baseball also announced its new one-game wild-card playoffs will be televised Oct. 5 by TBS and that two division series games will shift from TBS to the MLB Network under a deal running through 2013. TBS Sports president David Levy said a rights fee was involved.
The two division series games will be available in more than 30 million fewer homes on MLB Network than on TBS -- that includes some hometown fans of the teams playing.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
