whaaaaaat?? this looks awesome!!

Resurrection is an upcoming American fantasy drama television series about previously dead people who come back to life in the way they supposedly died. The series is based on the novel The Returned by Jason Mott and is being co-produced by Plan B Entertainment (led by Brad Pitt, Aaron Zelman, JoAnn Alfano, Jon Liebman, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Michele Fazekas, and Tara Butters) and by ABC Studios with direction by Charles McDougall. The pilot was officially ordered to series on May 10, 2013^[1] and was placed on the schedule as a limited series to run during the 2013–14 television season.^[2] On August 4, 2013, it was announced that the series will premiere Sunday, March 9, 2014.^[3]

The series follows the residents of Arcadia, Missouri, whose lives are upended when their loved ones return from the dead, unaged since their supposed deaths. Amongst the returned is Jacob Garland, an eight-year-old boy drowned thirty two years earlier. Having somehow been found alive in China, he is brought back to America by an immigration agent. His surprise return inspires the local sheriff, whose wife drowned trying to rescue Jacob, to learn more about this mystery.

yeah that looks interesting, I will record in a valiant attempt to watch, which so far is just a lesson in futility, I see the red record light on but at this point don't even remember what i am recording

yup, on my list to dvr...... there is another series coming up too that has something to do with the "Rapture"..... anyone heard about it??? I actually think Damon or JJ is attached to it.

I didn't really care for it... i'll give it a couple more tries but Believe was much better than this.

I have to check out believe still, the previews make it look really good, but NBC is so bad for not giving shows a chance to get a fan base, especially if there is no big name exec producers on the show

I haven't read all the posts here, so maybe someone already said this.

There's another series with a similar theme on Netflix. It's a French series, with English subtitles, called "The Returned." The first season is on Netflix. It's about people who have returned from the dead. But I think the French show is different - not the same characters, etc. as "Resurrection." But a similar theme.

Yes, Resurrection is based on the book "The Returned" they were actually going to keep the title The Returned, but decided to go with Resurrection instead. Maybe there was issues because of the show that had already been created.

The show Resurrection seems to follow the book. But, the French show The Returned has all different characters.

I assume that the theme is the same?

I can post spoilers from the French show if anyone wants to know.
