Apparently we're going to do the hurricane thing every year now so the weekend may get rained out.
I don't know who I'm going to root for - probably Texas if they make it. I'm not sure if I can bring myself to root for the Dodgers even with JRoll and Utley. the red sox are doing the same, they have wone 6 in a row, and with a little luck might even finish the season with a .500 record

| they're trying to avoid 100 losses I really don't care about that - at this point I'd rather them take the #1 pick next draft. This is rock bottom; they can (ok should) only go up from here. We'll still have Howard but he'll platoon with Ruf (finally! #freeDarinRuf) and Ruiz will be our backup catcher for his last season. The rest of the team should finally be under 30 years old. | |

The Cards are like the Spurs of baseball, they just win. I've always like the organization and I hope they do well in the playoffs. We let our lead slide and now we're barely hanging on to a playoff spot. On one hand it's been frustrating, especially the last series against Texas (God, I hate that team) but on the other after years of looking like a AA team and barely getting 50-60 wins, whether we make the playoffs or not it's been a good year and I like the direction we are going.

| Well it's over. We managed to NOT lose 100 games, clinched the 1st round pick and can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel. While no position is locked down, some are at least penciled in. This year should be our rock bottom. | |

| I think the AL playoffs are gonna be great, 3 hot teams come scorching in. No clue who is coming out of the AL. I hope the Astros beat the Yanks, but that's just personal . I think the NL is the Cards to lose. | |

yeah I'm rooting for the Astros too, for obvious reasons. Toronto I don't think has enough pitching but they sure can hit. I'd love to the see the astros and cards in the world series.

Thank! Good luck to you guys too. You guys look really strong, and should take either Chicago or the Pirates starting Friday. We have Keuchel starting Wednesday, and he's been a Yankees killer this whole season, so hopefully we'll get past them and start against KC on Thursday. It's fun to be finally back in the playoffs.

I can't think of a pic I've ever seen where the people smoking cigars looked LESS awkward, clearly they are newcomers to the stogie thing Diekman is new to the whole playoff thing Hamels is showing him the ropes obviously. Should I be pleased that everyone we traded away are going to the playoffs?

| believe me, I am. The haul for Hamels/Diekman alone was good but we got some good pitchers back for Jimmy too.
Them plus the last 2 years 1st rounders combined with whoever we get first next draft and we'll be on our way. 2017 looks like it could be our first winning season again. Our AA team was fabulous this year and they should start making their way up by mid season next year.

BTW- you looking for an overpriced shortstop turned left fielder, turned possible first baseman witha horrible attitude?/ Hanley ramirez could be yours, and the red sox would probably pay more than half his salary.. I really really hope they dump him, and I hope they keep the young'ens and not dump them all. I know some will go, the sox need too many things to be able get them all in fre agency, and will have to make some deals, but I really hope that with the second half and them being able to see the potential of some of these guys, they make a commitment to keep the younger guys and try to fill in some spots with a couple of decent veterans

| They fired ole Ruben so I think we're safe from Hanley. And or SS of the future is one of those AA guys I mentioned. There's some belief that we may see him next season but I don't know.
I'm hoping they don't go after any vets this time. Pitchers anyway. I do not want another Harang experiment. I'd rather see the younger guys give it a go. I'd be ok with them being back Francoeur though. As an experienced 4th OF he could help. His numbers were decent this season.

That's why they are going to try and make him a first baseman now, if he can play first, he will open up at least some teams in the NL. They will have to eat a huge portion of his ridiculous salary but that's nothing new.

Great game last night, they had what? Three hits all night? Our bullpen scares me sometimes, and when Keuchel left after 6 I was just praying they could get us the last 9 outs without screwing it up. Nothing makes me happier than seeing ARod go 0-4

Nothing makes me happier than seeing ARod go 0-4 He pitched great, and yes the aged yankees could only muster 3 singles against him. Now they have a little confidence, and hopefully can get some more wins. though i'm happy they won the play in, I think they should try to change the wild card to a best 2 of 3, change the division series to best 3 of 5 then the championship and world series keep 4 of 7. i know it'd be hard to do and some teams could potentially go almost a week waiting for the wild card games to be finished, but it's also kinda tough fighting to get into the playoffs and then have 1 bad game and you're out.

| I know what you mean, Blondie, seems it would go forever, but after making the playoffs via wildcard it all comes down to one game? I would like to see it at least be a 2 out of 3. I think the division series is already 3 out of 5, isn't it? | |

| It doesn't make sense that you play series all season long, then when you get to the playoffs, one and done. The Wildcard should absolutely be a best of 3. You can start the season a week earlier if you are concerned about the playoffs running late into November. | |

not really, the second series are best of seven, so, if the series' are all played to the maximum games isn't that just 1 more game than they way it is now?? I know it might delay the second series for a day or two, but not much more than that. i'm thinking veteran's day at the most??
