| Anyone actually still watch cable?
they are passing a new requirement here with the cable stations that you can now pick and choose which stations you want - instead of having to pay 20 bucks for a big package just to get the one channel you actually wanted.
now I can pick AMC, and A&E separately. will be good!!
What are people binging on these days?
I am immersed in the Greys Anatomy.... ohhh so good

I am immersed in the Greys Anatomy.... ohhh so good I told everyone here at least a year ago that this is where cable TV is headed, mark my words, they will be offering more and more of this and you will be able to pick only the channels you really want to watch and leave off the other 248 channels that you don't want to watch. It will mean that some channels will cease to exist and there will be even more specialized channels popping up. It's probably the only way that cable companies will be able to compete with streaming services, even morso than they do already. Cable will be alacarte completely within 5-10 years, you heard it here first. You will still get all the local channels but other than the major local channels you will be able to pick and choose which channels you want and which you don't .

I have to watch them when my wife is not home because she dosent like sub-titles I watch alot of shows when my wife isn't home, she doesn't like all the violence and gore on the shows I like. also isn't a huge sci fi fan so anything like Expanse, and the magicians, both on syfy I watch when she ain't home expanse is pretty good, and the magicians i have to catch up on but I liked the pilot, looked like it had some potential.

nope, in fact depending on what you get for channels, i see it being more expensive as right now there are channels that are grouped together because they are owned by the same corporations or networks and if you order 1 but not the other you will be paying as much or more for cable. But it will be what cable TV becomes in the not too distant future in a galaxy right near you

| Killjoys follows a trio of hard-living bounty hunters – Dutch, John, and D'avin– taking on interplanetary missions, chasing and capturing deadly criminals throughout a distant system named the Quad. They have sworn amongst themselves to remain neutral during a bloody, multi-planetary class war that threatens to destroy the Quad. However, their own pasts and the events around them begin to draw them in deeper to this dangerous vortex of war.

| Due to watching Xfiles I have been watching more cable, only to be led to disappointment of course... There is a new show that comes on after Xfiles called Lucifer, I've really gotten into that one. I also started to watch the new show Angel from Hell... which was so funny, but of course got cancelled after 5 episodes... I was so mad at myself for even watching it lol
One good thing tho.. XFILES IS BACK!!!!!! There is going to be another season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ The Sun lit the Earth like never before.

Rogers has Shomi... its lame attempt at Netflix. Shomi is not a lame attempt at Netflix, its the Canadian version of hulu, so there is a shit ton of shows on Shomi that you can't get on Netflix Canada. I got 2 free years of Shomi with my new phone and have been watching that a lot I was using the app on my computer to get American Netflix but it was causing a lot of issues and I didn't want to pay for the upgraded version, so when I got Shomi I checked it and it had a lot of the American Netflix stuff as well as a lot of the stuff you find on Hulu _________________ The Sun lit the Earth like never before.

I don't like Shomi. I have it free too but I find their selection sucks. and when they advertise a series its not from the beginning ... but like last season's... Really?? I know when I first started using it took me a bit to figure out how to navigate it, but I haven't run into any issues that the shows don't start from the first season. I watched the first 4 seasons of 2 Broke girls and the first season of Empire, which is such an awesome show!! There is no way I am changing my DNS or IP address, Erika and Jamie did that all the time and they got a warning from both Microsoft and their ISP, they are really cracking down on that stuff. Plus changing your DNS and IP address makes your computer very vulnerable. _________________ The Sun lit the Earth like never before.

| it depends on the DNS you connect to, people change the DNS number now because it not as easy to detect as changing your IP address, but from want I always understood is that if you change your DNS it will automatically change your IP to the same region as the DNS number, once your ISP flags you for having an IP address out of your region they will cut you off.
The issue with changing your DNS number is that if someone hacks into that DNS they can access you computer and all you information.
Do you just change your DNS number when you want to watch something or do you keep it changed all the time?? _________________ The Sun lit the Earth like never before.

| If you change your DNS number only when you watch Netflix you don't really have to worry, but if you keep it changed all the time, just be very careful when you are browsing or inputting personal info, a different DNS number leaves your IP address vulnerable and there's a good chance that you go to a website like google.com and it looks like its google but its not and everything you are inputting is going to which ever hacker is on that DNS _________________ The Sun lit the Earth like never before.

| Using a Smart DNS proxy service, is not a bad idea. The only problem is that you do NOT know what traffic is being re-routed, so you do have to trust the Smart DNS proxy service. If you randomly find DNS codes online, and then apply those codes to unblock Netflix and the likes you risk the hazards below.
- Your privacy is exposed, do you even know what information is gathered about you, how long it is kept, and for what purposes ?
- Performance issues. If you are using an online random code, chances might be it is overloaded, and DNS queries are slow, which in turn slows down all of your Internet.
- Your personal information is at risk ! Given that you do not know who operates and owns that DNS code. You are at risk of your personal information such as Facebook information, Bank accounts, email accounts, being re-routed and stolen.
- Stability at loss. How much fun is it, if you have to keep running around fetching DNS codes, and your Internet being down on and off all the time.
- No support ! If you have issues with the service, who do you turn to ?
- Free ? Why ? So there is a DNS proxy code online, which is free to use ? Why ? I mean what is in it for the DNS code owner ? Under which jurisdiction is he acting ? And again under what privacy rules ?

| I have Netflix, Amazon prime and I'll probably sign up for Hulu. They have the Stephen King 11.22.63 that I'm dying to see and I've heard good things about their original shows in general. I have cable but only order the premium channels when they're 1/2 price. Verizon just gave me HBO free until May 31 for being a loyal customer. I didn't even know it.
Amazon prime is great because the next episode just starts automatically and I don't have to get up to hit play.

I don't think it's as big as Netflix but they do have a lot of stuff and some different stuff. I wanted to watch Bosch (based on a book series I love). I got it on sale for $66 for the year (opposed to $99 regularly). A couple of weeks ago they updated the software for the auto play which is the best. I use a HDMI coverter with my old phone and stream through my tv so I would have to get up ( ) after every episode to select the next show and now I don't have to. It's only $7.99/month so its not a big deal but I already have the other 2 so I don't know if I really need another service.

Stephen King's adaptations aren't usually that good but I'm still always compelled to check them out anyway.

- I have Netflix, Amazon prime and I'll probably sign up for Hulu. They have the Stephen King 11.22.63 that I'm dying to see and I've heard good things about their original shows in general. I have cable but only order the premium channels when they're 1/2 price. Verizon just gave me HBO free until May 31 for being a loyal customer. I didn't even know it.
Amazon prime is great because the next episode just starts automatically and I don't have to get up to hit play. wait... is that out now?????
yes! it started last Monday but I think they only release 1 epi a week so I'm waiting for all to air so I can use my free trial to binge them and check out what else they have. It's only $7.99/month so its not a big deal but I already have the other 2 so I don't know if I really need another service. this is exciting - I'm going to look it up when I get a chance ... have you seen it since we last talked? Del yes I agree - was an awesome book!
