Seems like the city of Boston has had one pro sports franchise or another bringing home big championships more than any other major metro area in the US over the last decade or two, and this past year the Red Sox won the World Series, the Patriots lost the Superbowl the year after winning it, the Celtics won a playoff series, and now the Bruins have lost the Stanley Cup Finals. So, along with Del, i'm not finding any breaks in my heart for Brad Marchand or any other Boston sports enthusiasts.
Congrats to Mister Maturin's home town. St. Louis is right up there with Baltimore, Detroit/Flint, and Cleveland in terms of being cities with great histories and still plenty of bright spots, but also lots of urban blight among other difficulties, which tend to get more news coverage than the bright spots. Without actually checking, i think their last major sports championships were that year the Cards won when Pujols was still there and before that, when the Rams were still there and being called The Greatest Show on Turf with Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner, Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce, Mike Martz et al.
