yup, my father told me stories about watching him play when he was a kid. He would take a train from Hartford to Boston and buy grandstand tickets for less than 20 buck for everything, including a couple of hot dogs. now you can't park a friggin car for less than 40 anywhere near the stadium

the problem is the only real free agent we have is Papi, which won't help you much unless Howard can play right field.
Ells bury will be one after next year-
Matsuska will be- but nobody wants him

a couple of fill ins that are a dime a dozen
and the rest of the team is locked up with multi year contracts that nobody will want to take on unless the Sux pay for almost all of it

I thought there was a good CF hitting FA this off season - it may have been Swisher that I was thinking of. He'd be good too.

swisher is available at the end of the year, he's pretty decent, and probably could be had for 5-6 mil a year

honestly, I really think they trade him in the offseason, and a few more.
I doubt they re-sign papi, and the team is going to look a little different next year.....it better, this has been an embarassment

they still have to worry about the luxury tax

hopefully since even the Yanks are trying to get under, FA prices will start coming back down to Earth

no but the problem is, when you sign a guy like, say carl crawford<, for that much, when you have a guy who is better, he's gonna say well carl crawford is making 20 million, are you saying i'm not as good as carl crawford

hopefully you will, I don't care soo much about the money per year, it's the 6-7 year contracts that can ruin a team for a long time if they don't work out, I say keep them to 2-4 year deals

yeeeeeeeeees...shorter deals!

even if they include an option for a couple of years, that way if the player is still performing he still gets paid if not he can renegotiate for waht would still be out rageous money but it would allow the team to sign someone else and improve that players chances of winninga champioship

it seems simple enough and woould work out for everyone, so therefore it will never ever happen

And it appears Bobby V will be returning, how wonderful.

i dont see how they can focus and be a team now that theyve aired their grievances ...the tension will be high and respect will be all off balance
