| I made a deal with Kelly, so now I'm watching this beast of a show. Just finished the pilot episode.
I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan so seeing his face show up as the dad was pleasant. He's so damn pretty that I guess I can forgive him for being Negan. Hopefully he shows up again at some point and the whole show isn't just the brothers looking for him.
The way the mom died was pretty freaky, but the bit with the girlfriend dying the same way the mom did was painfully predictable. I'm going to need this show to step it up in the originality department.
I do have to say that the special effects are top notch for a tv show. The way the ghosts kids took her away was pretty fantastic. What year did the show start? I'm trying to decide if it's old enough that I need to be a little impressed or extra impressed.
It's going to be very confusing for me to call Dean from Gilmore Girls Sam. I may just refer to them as Dean 1 (Gilmore Girls Dean) and Dean 2 (Supernatural Dean).

He really, really, really is. I'm fairly obsessed with him. Funny thing is, I knew him as John Winchester before I knew him as Negan, so for me seeing TWD is all "John, what have you become?" - Quote :

Yeah, when you told me that Sam was called Dean on another show, I died But SPN Dean is definitely Dean 1. He's older. Even though he's shorter.

| Gilmore Girls Dean has been Dean since 2000, so he is Dean number 1. | |

| Finished episodes 2 and 3. Still waiting for the originality. So far it's very formulaic. Meet pretty girl. Pretty girl has Male family member in trouble. Save Male family member and receive gratitude from pretty girl. | |

| Episode 9 is when I started to pay attention.
Warning, episode 8 is so fucking bad that it's a fandom in-joke.
But, episode 9 it's when it starts to get away from Formula-Ep, Formula-Ep, Formula-Ep and begins letting you see the real story arc.

| LMFAOOO oh no. 8 is the worst episode. I promise.
Seriously there are even meta inside jokes about it in later episodes.
That's why you have to watch it and can't skip it, you have to realize the full absurdity of it.

| Huh, my first post edit button disappeared. Guess the description is stuck that way forever now.
I'm on ep 8 and Kelly asked me to live blog it.
Opening scene with the bugs, gross. Also the camera work trying to depict the shaking ground was fucking atrocious.

| Finished episode 9. There was some definite improvement in this episode. Nice addition to the main storyline, even though it still a little bit followed the formula. Loretta Devine as the psychic was fantastic. I love her in pretty much everything though. Excellent casting choice. I hope we see her regularly. The dad shows up. I think it's BS that he wont help them. There can be no good reason for this, even if he is Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Dean #2s plea over voicemail was heartbreaking. I think that whatever killed the mom must be either linked to or specifically after Dean#1 somehow. Too many signs point to him. Mom died in his room. Then his girlfriend meets the same fate. He's got special abilities to dream the future. The way his dad treated him for wanting to be normal instead of a monster hunter. Yep, this whole thing is about him somehow. | |

| Yesssss now a plot begins to emerge, and you're picking up on things.
I'm not saying every episode will now be fucking fantastic, but it's an improvement from here until at least the end of S5 (show takes a slight dip in S6, then recovers).
By the time S2 starts, even the "formula" bits are overlaid by heavy plot development and story arc. You're done with pointless "just going to ride around in the car and do shit" episodes.

| Working on episode 11. Dean#1 says "you just blindly follow him no matter what he says. Dean#2 says "yeah, its called being a good son".
I was contemplating changing their names to Tall Dean and Short Dean... but now I think I'm going to go with Smart Dean and Stupid Dean.

| LMAO It gets better. And S3 is extremely short, so it will be over soon. S4/S5 are a major two-season arc with huge stakes and lots of fun shit. And you meet someone extremely important in the premiere of S4, the third main character.
And the end of S3 is pretty fun.
