yeah though I'm also happy with victorino so far to. Looks like Aceves will get a start or two, hopefully lackey isn't hurt too bad, i really want him to at least hold his own this year

it wont happen ever..i know some older guys talking about how they wish they would have won something in their life time..lol..i dont see me being lucky enough to see it either right now...i feel bad for my dad and his friends..all above 60..and havent seen anything other than a playoff win here and there..but a failure later...

they're saying a strained bicep, no tear, no damage to the elbow or shoulder, probably at this point will miss 2 starts.

another pet peeve of mine that ive been talking about to people around me is the sissification of pitchers now days...i dont understand why you need a pitcher for the 7th..and a different one for the 8th..and then a closer....there have been so many games where i see a relief pitcher come in..shut down the offense in a 1 2 3 type inning..but then replace him the next inning..and that new pitcher gives up like 3 runs...why cant you let a pitcher in relief that is doing good continue the game ..hes on a role and feeling well....why stick to these stupid titles..'oh he's mid relief..this guy is the closer..this guy is mid mid relief..'...stupid...

thats pretty weak...especially knowing those guys probably were starters in highschool and college and the A leagues...i know they can pitch more than 20 pitches...if my guy comes in relief in the 7th and gets a 1 2 3 or close inning..shuts them down...im leaving him in the next inning too..

I have to agree with Derek. The one inning guy sucks. And then only two days in a row sometimes

noone ever talks about this either..i get so mad when one of our guys comes in..and everyone gets excited cuz he shuts them down and does awesome..but then he's out the next inning..and the new pitcher gives up a few runs...wtf....only way i see it plausible is when he has to be taken out for a pinch hitter to try to get a run or something

all the radio shows are saying what agreat job the front office did putting together this year's sox team, the same radio shows that were lambasting them for signing a bunch of journeymen players to 3 year 13 million dollar contracts 2 months ago it's almost as much fun as listening to the callers say what players they should trade for come July

I'm glad Victorino is doing well. Maybe a change of scenery is going to be good for him too.

I heard him say last year he was thinking about his contract situation too much which affected his game, i think a part of him really wanted to stay in philly, but when he got traded he looked for another team where the atmosphere is similar. I think he will be just fine, not sure about 3 years, but for this year at least he provides good defense and some hitting and speed on the bases.

I don't think they wanted to resign him anyway. He wanted too much money and that wasn't in the CF budget. Plus the whole "get younger" thing.

Speaking of atmosphere....we had our lowest attendance since 2009.

i know this is a minor issue..but living in the midwest ..close to chicago..i know what cold is around here...in my opinion those players were sissy asses..wearing that facial cover stuff...some did..some didnt...wow...i hate pre-maddona players....

Yup

He's had a horrible spring, now his first 2 starts have been bad. His velocity is ok but he's having trouble throwing a strike that isn't right over the plate. Some are saying its the cutter (and the damage seems to be with that pitch). I don't know. The team announced that they will give him all season if that's what he needs. I do think that's admirable that they are sticking with him. I take it that they do not believe he's hurting.

Time will tell.
