Halladay is giving a press conference at 2 to discuss his medical evaluation.

there are reports that he seems to be in a good mood so maybe he's not announcing his retirement afterall

bone spur rubbing against his rotator cuff, basically eroding it.

surgery is necessary to clean it out, rough estimate of recovery is 3 months

he said the doctor claims they may be able to turn the clock back 2-3 years - give him increased motion and velocity.

How old is he?

Happ was released from the 'spital....something like a deep bruise and cut on his ear...but he'll be okay and able to play again :)

That's fantastic news!

-Happ did not suffer a concussion, and a CT scan showed no damage to his brain or spine.
-Happ did sustain a small skull fracture near his ear and received stiches on his ear. However, he said his injuries were neither serious nor threatening.
-Happ tweaked his knee while falling and will have tests performed Wednesday night, which should reveal whether there's any damage. Happ characterized his knee as feeling "tight and stiff."

That's so great...I really thought his baseball career was over and possibly had a lot more problems coming his way. So glad he's going to be ok.

we nearly pulled off a come from behind sweep of the Giants

They've NEVER played well against them, took the first two and made them blow a save yesterday.

This is going to be a tough month but at least they showed some fight again.

they need to hit, well last night they hit, but webster got freakin shelled.
dempster has been fine, along with Buch and lester, they haven't been scoring any runs for him ( about 3 a game) but he's pitched fine so far. their hitting has been terrible the last week or so,and their bullpen is going to be a problem if they don't get some guys off the DL. good thing doubront was there last night ( though he didn't exactly shut anyone down ether), i don't know who else they have for long relief when a pitcher stinks up the place.

that was the single worst throw to second on a come backer to the pitcher i have ever seen, ever, it wasn't even close

what kills me is it was 4 unearned runs last night, and lackey was pitching great up until then. they have completely lost the ability to geta timely hit, they have guys on base and send s dribbler to the shortstop or skya flyball about 200 feet from the plate hopefully tonite they turn it around a little

we lost both games the last time - at their park

we're home for 2 this time; and Halladay won't be there for them to feast on. They get Pettibone and Hamels - if we can hit just a little bit we may have a shot.

A one hitter Friday night, a 2 hitter Saturday (I was there!)....and then we are blown out on Sunday. Good series all in all though.

yeah it's a mess right now, but they need to cut down a little on strikeouts and get a few hits with MOB. Lester pitched about as well as I have seen anyone pitch on friday, that was fun to watch
