MLB 2013

Well they did again last night, although their pitcher did quite settle down after the 4th, luckily they hit him when he was down...

I'm really starting to question our front office - Carlos Zambrano? It's only a minor league deal but....

I guess he has a shot at the majors depending on what happens with Halladay.

All is well in Cardinal nation right now. It'll fall apart soon enough though, I'll let you know when.

I'm starting to think that Hamels is hurt. He's at 100 pitches in the 5th and just gave up 5 runs.

Tigers and Astros tied at 5. Miguel Cabrera just rang the bell of their catcher, fouling a ball off his mask...

Oh Blondie I feel sorry for your Phillies....they just signeed Carlos Zambrano, I think to a minor league contract, but still...his picture is noxt to "loose cannon" in the dictionary...

it's really been a struggle to score runs lately, i turned the game on with them up 3-0, as soon as tampa scored the first run, I knew there was gonna be trouble

the news on Roy Halladay is good - surgery yesterday went well. He can begin throwing in 6-8 weeks.


I think the Braves just got bad news - Venters to have tommy john surgery - his 2nd For those not familiar with the NL East - he's a huge part of their mega-successful bullpen. Not that they don't have guys to spare but they will miss him. I think he's their 8th inning guy.

their closer, Kimbal, has blown multiple saves this year.


I know a lot people say we overpaid for Pap but at least, when we do have that rare save opportunity, he gets it done. Too bad we're not a better team.

If we sell this year, I think someone will take that contract off our hands.

I have heard of a couple other guys who have done it twice, not sure if they ever had a career after the second one though, thats alot of tendon relocations

that doesn't bode well for a guy like Strausberg - maybe buyer beware?

hopefully the sox can manage to win 2 games in arow, something that has suddenly become extremely difficult

we JUST had our first 3 game win streak going

3 runs in the the top of the 9th , with 2 outs, a much needed win

joel hanrahan has had TJ surgery today, out til mid next year, this will have an effect on his free agent money for sure.

yeah they have been pitching well, i think it took a week or so for everyone to get used to their new jobs, and having the manager and pitching coach figure out who was going to do waht. also, it helps when you get some hits with RISP!!

Odd game with the Brewers yesterday. Kyle Lohse seemed to have some beef with the Cardinals and no one will say what happened. Then, he was expecting to get hit by a pitch and just stood there in the batting box waiting for it but the Cards didn't retaliate because I'm not sure they knew what they were supposed to be retaliating against. He may have been upset they scored on a squeeze play or he may have been upset that the rookie pitcher that batted after the squeeze play showed bunt then pulled back. He was fired up...but wouldn't talk about it post-game. DRAMA!

i'll take a 6-3 road trip. now back home for terry francona's first return to fenway as an opposing manager. if I know the fenway faithful, he will, and should, receive a rousing standing ovation when he comes out of the dugout.

we spend the weekend in Washington (ever so slight possibility of jumping into 2nd place ) then we're shipping up to Boston It'd be really nice if your guys can go slumping next week

and for the record, Delmon Young isn't as horrible in RF as we were led to believe - he also has a pretty good arm - he got an assist on a double play last night.

Sports Illustrated curse. All 5 of the starting rotation on the cover....2 down with injuries. Jaime Garcia is out for the rest of the season.

I love watching him hit. I don't know why I've been catching so many Tiger games on TV lately, but I have.

Cabrera is the poster boy right now, mostly because he's flirting with 400 average. But yeah he's fun to watch...he's got so much power, I've seen him hit an opposite field HR off the end of the bat - with only one hand on the bat...
