I think 2013 is Charlie's last season. He doesn't have that long to wait if he wants to manage here.
I hear Francona is looking for a job I wish we still had Francona, If they fire Bobby V, Ryan can start managing this year.

about 5 months or so til pitchers and catchers Hopefully this time tomorrow. This is the worst I can ever remember the Sox being. Bring in Ryan Sandberg. It is by far the worst i've ever seen, and I have been watching them since about 1970. I'm sure my father can remember them being worse than this, but it was before my time that's for sure.

| Would a move to be a major league coach be a promotion over AAA manager?
We just let our first base coach go.

| A great and scary game. Yes. I don't really have any expectations. I love October baseball so I'll savor this one game...and if we move on then AWESOME....if not....I'll be sad but I still got last years memories pretty fresh. | |

| Thank god that season is over, I haven't watched a game since they traded agon beckett and crawford. It seems i didn't miss much. The last 13 games they were 1-12, and got out scored like 90-35. I hope they spend their new found wealth wisely and come up with a team and a manager to right this ship. | |

I love watching pitchers get a big hit in a game I can live without that once a year thrill!!! I'd rather have a masher at DH who gets hits every game, while my pitcher sits on the bench with a warm towel on his are spitting pumpkin seeds all over the dugout where he belongs.

Sorry some guy called the boston station this morning asking what the chances were of the sox hiring Francona back. Never gonna happen, even though i thought they should have never fired him, no way they hire him back. I hope he does get a job though, maybe cleveland?? sounds like he's the front runner Miami has a job opening too. tough year

| I'd much rather watch a pitcher hit. It calls for more strategy in a game. An AL manager just sits and watches the game. Very little strategy is called for. | |

| Red Sox Fire Bobby Valentine By Mike Axisa [October 4 at 11:51am CST]
Manager Bobby Valentine will not return to the Red Sox next season, the team announced (on Twitter). GM Ben Cherington will lead the search for his replacement.
“This year’s won-loss record reflects a season of agony,” said Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino in a release. “It begs for changes, some of which have already transpired. More will come. We are determined to fix that which is broken and return the Red Sox to the level of success we have experienced over the past decade."
Valentine led the Sox to a 69-93 record and a last place finish in his only season at the helm. His dismal is not much of a surprise, especially in light of some of Cherington's recent comments. Valentine was under contract for next season at $2.5MM, which the team is still obligated to pay him.

yeah i'm afraid that the sox will be in transition for a year or two before they get back to a level we have grown to expect. Even if they spend all the money they dumped in august, there isn't enough free agent talent to get them back to the top. we'll see but they have a ton of work to do. at least the astros are in the AL now, they may win a few against them next year

I do think that if the Nats are going to do it, they better do it now. Next season, they will NOT run away with the division
