I am positive the farrell did not want to call out Pinieda for the pine tar, but really didn't have a choice when he had it slathered on his neck like a friggin mike tyson face tattoo.

We lost but I guess sweeping the Dodgers was a long shot anyway. I think we go to Arizona tomorrow and if they can't sweep them and their 5-18 record or whatever they're at now.......

The Pine Tar doesn't bother me, batters use it, it's only fair pitchers should be able to as well, but it did look ridiculous on his neck.

yeah it was soo obvious that farrell HAD to say something or else the press would have been all over him , especially if the yankees ended up winning the game.

yeah it doesn't bother me either, and you know lackey probably was using something too, they all do, but to have it slathered in a big blotch on your neck like that is just daring someone to say something about it.


They could change the rule, but then there will be big globs of it on the ball at some point, and how do you determine how much is too much??

tough call and like i said I bet farrel really did not want to go out there and say something about it, and I bet the players wouldn't have cared if he didn't.

and middlebrooks is coming back, but the defense is just killing me, they really need to step it up and not be down 5 runs before they can even pick up a fucking bat.

they are on pace to give up over 100 unearned runs this season, they gave up 43 all year last year, they have 23 already this year.

Yea, it's been a frustrating start to the season.

they just can't get to 500, but I'll take 2-3 from a division foe.

from the looks of the weather, tomorrow is cold, possibly raining, the frekin weather just won't break.

It should've been a lot easier against the D-Backs but that's baseball. 6-4 West Coast trip - gotta take it.

the Mets are next I think, then the Nats. They could/should be able to leap frog right over both of them in the standings.

what a crappy night for baseball, but Lackey pitched well again, and they have been playing .600 ball for the last week and a half.

lets see if they can get to .500 tonight.

Victorino- 4-4 with a couple RBI, really nice to see him in the lineup, it changes everything

Yea the Frozen Tundra of Fenway Park.  Lackey has looked great all season, it's really nice to have Victorino back

Most likely it will remain the same unless they bring someone up for a spot start

I wouldn't mind seeing Peavy or Bucholz, but I absolutely don't want to see Doubront, you could pencil in the L if he is on the mound.

he can get 2 outs, then walks a guy and then just completely falls apart.

he did the same thing early last year then was pretty solid in the 2nd half.

he needs to step it up or workman will be the fifth starter soon.


I want henry owens to get a shot sometime this year, he could be as good or better than lester.

peavey pitched great again, and they lose 1-2, couldn't get anything done.

The Nationals, sans that brat, come into town tonight. Hopefully we can take that series. Dropping one to the Mets is not encouraging. Also they are at .500 and getting over that has been difficult.

The Sox have had trouble trying to get to .500 as well, went from third to last yesterday.  

at least the divisions are pretty close still. you really don't have to worry until someone starts pulling away. I think we're in 4th but only 4 games out. And that's with 2 rainouts already.

WEEI .com, it's the boston station that handles all the games, on the radio, the have a special section for the minor league stuff there that covers the prospects.

he's got the potential to be great, left handed, has plus plus fast ball and slider, still working on a consistent curve, but he's like 22 I think.

Ours have blown leads in ten games. If we got even half of them back as wins. We'd be in first place . A lot of teams need relievers. Pickens are slim.
