I will say something I told a friend on another board JJ, as a rival in the NL Central I always respected the Cardinals and enjoyed the friendly and respectful rivalry they always had. They had some great games especially about 6-7 years ago. Now that Houston has moved to the AL I can root for the Cards without feeling like a traitor.

The free agent season begins tomorrow
I just read that we are front runners for BJ Upton. I think he'll work fine here and at a reasonable, not blockbuster, price.
I'd also LOVE to see Ryan Madson sign a 1 year deal to be our bridge to Papelbon. I'm sure he'll want to close but after taking 2012 off for tommy john surgery he may have to settle.
One "expert" predicts Josh Hamilton will go to Atlanta - there's no way they're going to spend that much, imo.

I'd be PISSED if I were a Miami fan
and I feel bad for Stanton - he's a star. They should let him go already.
To the Phillies, of course

It's too bad, from what i've seen, the park is really nice, too bad noone will go to it. I love fenway park, but there is a big part of me that would love to see a brandy new stadium with all the bells and whistles for the sox to play in. hell, they could make it the same dimensions, even put a huge wall in left field again, but have nice seats and state of the art stuff for the fans. they built a field with the same dimensions in Florida for the spring training games, why not do it up in Boston

at least if Boston builds a new stadium, people will come to it.
I think Miami should've given it at least through next season. Just tweak the line up a little. What they did is just insulting.
I just read that Stanton did in fact tweet that he's pissed about this.
And Miami's park is....colorful..... I'd love to see it person, actually. I could get front row for cheap, I bet

hell buy grandstand tickets and then just move to the box seats, they may even pay you to sit there if the game is on TV

not interested in Reyes or buerle. maybe josh johnson would have worked, but the rest are nothing but over priced replacements for the over priced replacements the sox unloaded

the marlins are getting lambasted on ESPn today for dumping everyone. all the contracts they signed were backloaded, they basically paid half of what most of those guys will be making this year. Reyes went from i think 10 mil last year to 22 next year, on top of getting miami to pay for almost all of the new stadium

He's great IF (and that's a huge IF) he's healthy. He throws hard but maybe too hard for a starter.
I just saw that they are dangling Logan Morrison - he's not bad. A little nuts but he can hit.

of course he can probably get himself a little apartment to stay in instead of traveling so far
although I agree that dogs shouldn't be banned like that. My parents have 2 pit bull mixes at their house and both are so timid they cower if you raise your voice even a little
but Lucy will go after animals - she's killed before
