I don't really see Paps as the leadership type though - with that whole cinco-ocho thing he does. Adams and Durbin will probably fill that role better, at least in the bullpen.
With Howard and Utley back I think that overall leadership will improve. I keep looking at the second half of the season as reason to hope - they did make it interesting.
First game is tomorrow!! Utley on the spring training field for the first time in 2 years yeaqh he's not a leader, he's more of a 'dance on the field in your underwear with a cardboard beer box on your head because you made the playoffs guy"

| I think Dominic Brown REALLY wants to play with the big boys this year. I'm very glad to see him stepping up.

| Tigers picked up Torii Hunter off season, don't know what they'll do with him...but they got him...Tigers won't do any better this year, I fear, until they get at least one more solid starter... |

| you don't think? that line up is STACKED
You probably don't need any pitching until the trade deadline - get a proven playoff guy for the stretch

| its weird tho..when we make the playoffs, i automatically have this bad feeling and they start looking really scared and unsure of where they are...and they choke..
shit we had prior, wood, zambrano, clement, and maddux as a starting rotation and couldnt pull through....and it wasnt bartmans fault in the stands...it was our shortstop not making a routine play...grrr

you'll be very happy, and it will be hard to believe, there will be stories of families that finally saw it, fathers and grandfathers who die right after it happens, etc etc. when the sox finally did it it was the greatest thing. It brought back alot of childhood memeories with me of going to games, staying up as kid to watch(75) being crushed when it didn't happen (75,86) I hope it does happen, and soon, they have a great fanbase and deserve to joy of finally getting over the hump

I was actually hoping it would be a world series against the cubs, so if either of them won it would be easy to enjoy.

I grew up liking the Sox because my dad was such a big Ted Williams fan AND I was in high school when Roger Clemens started pitching for them. I thought about all the fans that watched them year in and year out lose. My heart broke for Billy Buckner when Mookie's ground ball went through his feet and the Mets won game 6. It was awesome when they finally won.

I told him he had to wait for the final out before he did...... it was really dried out 18 years later

| My favorite series of all time is the ALCS that the Sox came back on a 3-0 deficit. I knew once they completed the reverse sweep, there was no way they were losing the World Series. Also, they are they only team to win 8 straight games to win the WS. _________________ He is the Prince who was promised, and his is the song of Ice and Fire

| I was in stationed in Germany at the time and got up every night at 2 am to watch the games. My LT( who was a Yankee Fan) and I had a bet on the series, if the Stanks won, I was his personal bitch, WHen the Sox won, he became mine, and I was just a PFC at the time. The cool thing is our CO was a Sox fan too so he made the LT comply. Everyone in our company was pulling for the Sox just to see a LT treated like a Private. _________________ He is the Prince who was promised, and his is the song of Ice and Fire

me too, especially since the office manager here is a rabid yankee fan.. i knew they would win the series after that, just like I knew they would lose in 86 after they blew game 6, it was inevitable

| I know that spring training isn't really supposed to mean anything but Ryan Howard is HOT He's hitting righties AND lefties. Just hit a bomb off of Kimbrel. Dom Brown is also pretty hot. Utley hasn't been half bad either. I can't wait for the season to start. | |
