yup, i haven't even finished the book and so far there are serious deviations A few big deviations for me: Spoilers kinda but not really. Just stuff that's off from the book. - Spoiler:
Julia having a husband. Rusty being a firefighter and being on the other side of the dome. NOT BEING ABLE TO HEAR THROUGH THE DOME! Junior...brain tumor? Or just effing nuts? Duke being a part of the "scandal". Ugh, Angie. You're supposed to be dead. And Joe isn't your brother! Phil Bushey being Phil Bushey and not the Chef. ...and Barbie's character. I'm not sure what they're trying to pull there...

| I totally forgot to DVR this.. I blame my "smart" TV.. its all fucked up and won't let me connect to the internet so I can't use Netflix, so I have to hook up my laptop to the TV so I can watch Netflix, but I just use HDMI chord that goes into the back of the cable box.. so I totally forget about it _________________ The Sun lit the Earth like never before.

| JJ, we may not agree on much, but I agree with everything you posted in the hidden "spoiler". That all ticked me off. While I knew, that the show would be different from the book, I did not expect it to be that different.
I am willing to give the show a chance, meaning I will watch a few more eppies. _________________ She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.

apparently whomever wrote the screenplay didn't read the book either Yes, they did, but they had Stephen Kings approval to change what ever they wanted. I read that he was ok with that, as long as the basic storyline was intact. _________________ She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.

| The only thing that really bugs me is the complete change in Barbie. In the book, wasn't he just simply walking out of town? Now he's a murderer. He's also much younger than I pictured. The rest of it is just small details - I'm not sure if they'll affect the overall story yet.
I also found it amusing how they knew right away that they were completely trapped by the dome - in the book they took the time to follow the perimeter first. I blame that on time though.

I blame that on time though. yeah, he seems like a darker character so far, but he did have that conversation saying they guy attacked him, and I think he killed the guy because he was attacked not because that was his intent. i guess we'll see why he was there in the first place. I wonder if the sherriff will survive or if he dies?? My guess is he will be in a coma or somethin, i can't see him just dying in the first eppy like the book side note, i think by the third eppy i will be completely lost as the the show will have gone by my progression in the book

That's true for a lot of his books though.. There was a part though that kinda irked me...that there was so much info about in the book and then the whole thing kinda didn't come to anything - Spoiler:
The Vader File
. ...I put it in a spoiler because I don't know how far you are in the book, Vod.

in the book did Barbie kill anyone - someone said he was walking out of town - he was a short order cook wasnt he? just on the move... not on the run? yes, and once the dome fell, he returned to his old room - not Julia's house. And I don't remember Julia coming into the story right away. But again, most of the differences aren't bothering me so far.
