everything north of Hartford, going south of that in CT you get a half half yankee fan split. but certainly from where I live and north would be ablaze

mlb rumors says there are "fairly significant" but not "major" names
meanwhile, our GM has announced that we won't contend next year and probably not the next
at this point even I think he needs to go - he's done absolutely nothing this season. 2 more seasons of this isn't going to fly. I think they had 10,000 in attendance last night. they need to move now before they run out of money. If it means dropping Howard then it must be done. philly fans must be a mellow bunch if our GM said that Fenway would be in flames right now oh no they've been calling for his head since about.....when did they first miss the playoffs? but saying that right after failing to do anything 07/31? The stadium is empty. Last night it looked like only behind home plate had people there

They have some guys they're trying out in the outfield. Darin ruf is normally a 1b. Cody Ashe may get tried out there if they bring Franco up. A couple of others already had a shot.

I just don't think if the red sox wanted lester, they would wait to pay him 50 million more than they could have gotten him for.
he will be a yankee or a dodger next year

| hopefullyb he does, he is 27, so he should be in his prime, the contract appears to be backloaded, which helps if he takes a year to develop, but if he just sucks out loud he will be completely untradeable. hopefully he doesn't have the cuban mafia after him like cespedes does | |

| i see middlebrooks gone over the winter, brock holt playing third, and them holding out hope that bogarts can remember how to hit.
they still need an ace ( lester will not be back I am afraid) and a number 2 starter, and a number 3 starter ( bucholz ' bard's syndrome is incurable ) and then they have about 5 # 4 and 5 starters

| he's gonna play this year????? he hasn't played a game for 2 years, but his contract includes this year, so he could be playing in the majors before they roll the tarp out for the last time in spet. Imagine being an outfielder pushing and playing hard in the minors for yeaqrs waiting for your break, then waking up and reading your team just signed a guy who will be sent right to the big league team | |

| Although a 1 pitcher no-hitter is obviously much more exciting, our combo no-hitter was still pretty special. Hamels, Diekman, Giles, Paplebon no hit the Braves yesterday.
Today we call up some prospects - I'm looking forward to (hopefully) seeing the future out there.
We've been promised "significant changes" this winter. We'll see. To me that means replacing Howard and Brown.

| I don't think that's going to happen. They really don't have anyone else in the rotation since Lee is questionable to even come back.
Not that Hamels needed to increase his value anyway. I'd say he's easily in the top 3 or so lefties in baseball.

| and I know this may sound crazy but I think we may be on our way to having one of the most dominate bullpens next year. That Ken Giles (100 mile Giles) has struck out 50% of his batters faced and he's only been a big leaguer since about June. Diekman is the left counterpart who does almost as well.

| it'll take a lot I think they need to focus on starting pitching and let the youngin's (position players) sink or swim - its time. Again, there's potential. I hope your team does better too - you know the Phils actually have a better record than the Sox this season | |

| as the last month of the season rolls in, the Phils are finally having that hot streak they've been looking for all year.
The lost the series with the Mets but took 2 of 3 from the Mariners, Cards, swept the Nats and have a chance to sweep the Braves today.
figures since it doesn't benefit them to win now; they need to stay in the bottom 10 in order to protect their 1st round draft pick.
