| we don't have any excuses
Lee being out doesn't help but he's only 1 every 5. (I think he's headed for surgery - he still hasn't been cleared to throw and they won't provide an update)

same here, and it took ninth inning heroics from Papi to make that happen.
maybe now that napoli is back.....maybe It doesn't seem like they are playing with any urgency, like they are content with last years success. _________________ He is the Prince who was promised, and his is the song of Ice and Fire

that was the one move I wasn't happy with. i knew they wouldn't sign ells, but salty was comfortable, the pitchers liked him, and he was a horse aqll year wehn ross was out with the concussion. instead we have 2 37 year old catchers, neither of which are helping much. i'm surprised nava has taken such a downturn, i thought he would be more in line with his career numbers, 360-270 hitter with good plate discipline, and victorino just can't get healthy. gonna be a long summer, i don't see them making any major moves at the trade deadline, they will want to protect the prospects, and what you see as the team right now will be essentially what they are at the end of the season, win or lose, this is the team for this year i believe.

yeah me too, regardless of whatever they have coming up in the minors, they need him. i would be happy if they gave lackey some cash to stay for 2 more years, but lester is a definite, they have to sign him.

right after I posted that our 3B hit a 3 run walk off HR sadly, it was an inning after Hamels departed so he didn't even get the win, Pap did. Hamels dominated though - 11 strikeouts in 8 innings.

| another offensive onslaught, they won 1-0, but were 0-7 with runners in scoring position. they got a run on a sac fly that the left fielder for some reason made no attempt to throw our nava. however Delarussa seems like he might be a decent 4-5 starter. he has had a couple of pretty good games, a couple stinkers too, but overall he may have what it takes to pitch in the majors. now if they can just keep him away from bucholz and doubront he may have a future. | |

he is the only guy even resembling a major league hitter at the moment.
2-1 win, and lester added more money to what it will take to keep him.

launching point!!!!!! yeah he is somethin, he has played 5 different positions, none of which are his normal 2nd/short position, and played them all pretty well. I was surprised to see him in center last night, and that catch was pretty damn impressive.

| Tanaka has been killing iit. Have you seen his numbers? 11-1, 1.99 era, has gone at least 6 innings in every start and never allowed more than 3 earned runs, he has to be the top candidate for the Cy Young _________________ He is the Prince who was promised, and his is the song of Ice and Fire

| 0-0 in the bottom of the 8th lackey has been great, though gibson from the twins has equaled him gibson out, reliever in looks like lackey will pitch the ninth unless they can scrape a run in the eigth | |

| up 10-5 with 3 outs to go for the SWEEP! They hit, they walked, they stole bases. And this is with their "day game after a night game" lineup. Miami is losing, hopefully the Astros will beat the Nats and St. Louis will take down the Mets today. I'm sure this is all false hope but who cares.
on to St. Louis for 4. | |
